Summer Research Assistant
Fairfield, Connecticut, United States
I was assigned Laboratory Safety Trainings and the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines to fulfill the requirements of my role as a research assistant. As part of a research team focusing on Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) and its thermal performance when embedded in Phase Change Materials (PCMs), our role involves preparing samples for experimental study by designing TPMS structures and experimental setups using SolidWorks and MSLattice; fabricating the samples and printing them using the Rapidia Conflux 1 Metal 3D Printer and its associated furnace; and utilizing various laboratory equipment to explore heat exchanger behavior (wax melting) within TPMS structures. Besides experimental study, we also focused on the simulation study of the thermal performance of TPMS structures using ANSYS. Along with in-lab research, we are also required to conduct literature surveys, attend weekly seminars, and participate in both Kick-off and Closing events..
