I just recently moved to Fort Smith Arkansas and have recently been offered a job at a Skilled Nursing Facility. My philosophy of nursing is to treat not just the physical needs of the patient but also the emotional and psychological needs. I manageg a staff of 15 caregivers and 5 medication aides in a 58 bed assisted living and memory care facility. My job is to make sure that all resident receive the care they need and deserve. That they receive there medications on time and I remain in contact with their doctors to maintain continuity of care. My job is to make sure that my elderly residents remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. I conduct routine inservices to ensure that my staff adequately equipped to take care of the unique needs of each individual resident and to provide peace of mind to the families that entrust us with the care of their loved ones.
