About Eric Thayer
For the past 8 years I have been working in the Information Storage industry specifically for Dell EMC where I have been instrumental as a Workflow Manager matching customers with the best possible technical support engineers in order to resolve various hardware, ethernet, and fibre channel issues with all of their Dell EMC storage and replication products. I have held technical and leadership positions in various workgroups and have dedicated myself to providing the best possible experience to peers and customers alike.Additionally, I have a great deal of management experience in the US Military. As a member of the US Air Force Reserve I was placed over a number of Airmen whom I helped transition into our Squadron from prior service or from civilian life. I was a Non Commissioned Officer and know that the needs of subordinates must be balanced with the mission objectives of the organization in order to make a successful enterprise. I have served in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have supervised soldiers in the US Army as a team to establish communications equipment and was responsible for adapting to changes in mission directives. I have rerouted cables both overhead and underground on a facility that experienced constant mortar attack. As a civilian, I was the closing City Delivery Supervisor for the Cary Post Office in Cary, NC. Each of the 41 City mail routes and 3 Collection routes under my supervision had accurate and prompt mail delivery each day. I provided scheduling and direction for 56 City Mail Carriers. I successfully utilized these employees to accomplish the mission and goals of the USPS. Specifically I remember during very heavy snowfall one winter and many of the mail carriers were unable to come to work so I personally provided transportation for some of my employees that day. I got the mail delivered with very few employees. I had to arrange for tow trucks to extract mail trucks that were stuck in the snow and switch vehicles for carriers so that they could continue, but I made it happen.
