Profile bio

About Eric Thomason

Early in my engineering career an electrician requested that I provide my prints in a smaller size making it easier for him to reference without unrolling the typical unwieldly size D or E prints. The next day I brought him several prints from size C all the way down to about the size of a postage stamp. I gave him the postage stamp size first without letting on that I had any others. After a good laugh, we quickly became good friends and developed a great working relationship where we both learned from one another. The entire course of my 30+ year engineering and IT career has been marked with similar experiences. I focus on a combination of practical engineering solutions and excellent working relationships. Even Union employees that I worked with looked past their contractual restrictions and let me roll up my sleeves and be part of their work. Whether it was early in my career when I worked as a designer, or later in my career when I managed the IT leaders at 8-9 large manufacturing facilities, I always achieved this effective combination. I’ve provided electrical designs for a wide variety of manufacturing and non-manufacturing solutions. My designs have included electrical panel layouts, wiring diagrams, grounding systems, power distribution to 13,800 volts, building systems, controls systems, material handling, machining, assembly, and more. I’ve performed PLC programming, robot programming, weld gun programming, variable frequency drive configurations, servo motor installations, and more. I’ve written or edited training materials, taught classes, developed specifications and requirements, managed projects, and overseen construction.

Listed skills include Electrical Engineering, It Management, Manufacturing, Preventive Maintenance, and 5 others.
