▪ Primer: Grayscale's software works alongside applicant tracking systems (ATSs) and human resources information systems (HRISs) to provide sophisticated person-to-person messaging tools (via SMS & WhatsApp) for communications with deskless workers at large-scale (Enterprise) companies.▪ First full-time SWE aside from the CTO (7th employee; currently at ~35). Company ARR has grown700%+ since.▪ Head of Engineering at one point (hiring, processes, project planning).▪ Created SOA platform via Docker, AWS ECS, Terraform, custom service-to-service comms mechanism (OAuth2+Protobufs+Kong sidecars).▪ Owned the ETL process / (real-time) syncing with Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Greenhouse, Lever).▪ Led geo-expansion initiative -- from single US datacenter to creation of a second, isolated, EUdatacenter. Accomplished via expanding on the groundwork I had already established with the SOAplatform work, with the introduction of another "dimension" (region) to the mix. Accounting for 3rdparty services (e.g. Twilio and Merge.dev) required thoughtful project planning with an eye towardtackling areas of most uncertainty as soon as possible.▪ Addressed tech aspects of SOC2 and GDPR compliance (addressed vulnerabilities, coordinatedpenetration tests, etc.)

(Our CTO needed to take an unexpected, extended leave of absence)▪ Managed 9 Engineering and Product employees▪ Oversaw hiring, promotions, and role changes; instituted org structure tweaks▪ Facilitated team-suggested SDLC process tweaks▪ Developed an organizational "North Star" vision, to guide hiring plans and SDLC processes▪ Worked with Operations dept to modify and formalize the hiring process▪ Some project management (mostly delegated to Tech Leads)

▪ Primer: Tenjin combines advertising metrics with end-user monetization metrics, on a "user cohort"basis, to provide insights re: ROI on specific advertising campaigns and strategies, primarily for mobilegaming companies.▪ Implemented features and bug fixes for our managed database product ("DataVault" -- a managedRedshift db) which required an understanding of complex stats aggregations performed during dataprocessing. The code involved many similar SQL queries and temporary "staging" db tables. My tasksoften necessitated a tradeoff between adding (or fixing) functionality quickly vs. (safely!) refactoring toguide us toward easier long-term maintainability.▪ Stood up TICK o11y stack, primarily for tracking and displaying various DataVault metrics (e.g. queries made, # of tables, connection count).▪ Contributed to a platform shift from EC2, Puppet, and Capistrano to k8s, Helm, and Bash scripts. For a time, I was the primary "keeper of knowledge" re: the legacy platform during this shift.▪ Created a "mobile app SDK installation status" customer-onboarding tool to help new customers know when they'd integrated the Tenjin SDK into their mobile app(s) properly.▪ Occasional maintenance of our ad-network integration suite (hundreds of APIs).

▪ Primer: Rigor provided tools for synthetic monitoring and testing of customers' websites to illuminate unexpected errors or performance defects as quickly as possible.▪ First SWE to work on "Private Locations" offering -- essentially a containerized version of the metrics-gathering tool ("runner") for on-prem use / in any customer environment.▪ Upgraded Ruby and Rails from 1.8 and 3.0 to modern versions.▪ Moved major feature off of the “monolith” codebase and into its own codebase / service.▪ Developed apitester.com, a free tool for testing HTTP APIs.▪ Reduced AWS spend drastically by migrating to Spot Fleets and improving our queuing algorithm.▪ Operations and network-related tools and knowledge include VPCs, NATs, CloudWatch, Datadog, and managing multiple cloud providers and locations.

▪ Primer: RenterUp was a property management and rental-payment company that my co-founders and I built from the ground up.▪ Tech stack included Rails, Postgres, Bootstrap, Heroku and AWS.▪ Major learning curves included fraud protection (ID verification) and data security (encryption, PCIcompliance).▪ Heavy focus on clean, simple UX with responsive UI for ease-of-use via mobile browsers.▪ Third party integrations included Stripe and IDology.

▪ Primer: Tapjoy is a mobile advertising company, primarily for mobile gaming companies. Their mostnoteworthy feature is the "Offer Wall" which provides end-users with a choice of ads to engage with, in exchange for varying amounts of virtual currency (e.g. "Gold Coins").▪ Started and ran Atlanta engineering office. Set tone for office culture and work environment.▪ Recruited, interviewed, and managed 15 engineers, including sub-managers.▪ Planned and facilitated engineering projects, utilizing SCRUM and other Agile methodologies.▪ Exposed to huge scale (~800,000 req/min) and non-traditional databases (e.g. Vertica) for managing large datasets.

▪ Primer: Pardot is an industry-leading marketing automation and lead-generation tool.▪ Fifth SWE hire for a core team that put the company on a moonshot trajectory for eventual acquisitions by ExactTarget, then SalesForce.▪ Improved app efficiency and scalability through tools such as Solr and techniques such as databasesharding and replication.▪ Tech stack consisted of PHP on Symfony framework, with MySQL dbs. Many of my projects wereintegrations with 3rd party APIs such as Salesforce and Litmus.▪ Managed a team of three software developers, involving mentorship and peer reviews.
