My professional journey started in public service, working on political campaigns, stakeholder engagement and community development. I was drawn to that work because of my love of people, and trying to solve problems in communities. My efforts were recognized and I had the opportunity to work in three Federal cabinet agencies and as a staff member in the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. I had the opportunity to work side by side with some of our top executive and legislative thinkers, drafting legislation and speeches, traveling the world, and serving people. My love of communications blossomed through those roles, leading me to return to my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio to work at Vantiv, a young payments processing company. It was a lean company – small teams pulled in many directions with tight budgets. Everyone was in the work together, and it was fun. Our corporate communications team was explaining our company journey to our employees, building a winning culture with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility, and supporting a frenetic pace of mergers and acquisitions. In 2018 we became Worldpay, and a year later we became part of FIS and a couple years later we spun back out. Each change helped grow my career, exposing me to new global colleagues, experiences and approaches. I worked on massive company transformation programs with McKinsey coaches. I led global teams.
