Comisaf’S Advisory And Assistance Team (Caat), Camp Bastion, Helmand Province,

• Supported NATO four star Commander of coalition forces as a special advisor on counterinsurgency.• Led a combined field team of coalition military personnel and retired US special operators in Helmand Province looking for battlefield solutions to COMISAF’s strategic challenges.• Published reports and papers covering varying aspects of security force assistance, insider threat mitigation, cultural adaptivity, police primacy, rule of law, Counter IED, transition, retrograde operations and civilian casualty mitigation. • Embedded in field-combat conditions with Afghan security forces & US/UK advisors, conducted debriefs/interviews & Afghan key leader engagements throughout Helmand province.Awarded: US Meritorious Service Medal.

African Union Mission In Somalia (Amisom), Nairobi Kenya / Mogadishu, Somalia

• Advised AMISOM political and military leaders on the creation of the civilian casualty mitigation measures and structures.• Provided military technical assistance and political advocacy. • Co-authored the “Preliminary Framework CCTARC for AMISOM” outlining the mechanisms for civilian casualty mitigation and management in AMISOM operations.

United States Army, Joint And Combined Integration Directorate, Ft. Sill, Ok Usa

• Served as a UK exchange officer and worked on precision targeting/ joint effects issues across the US Services and Coalition. • Was the US Army’s fires and targeting representative to the Joint Staff and to ABCA. Harmonized precision targeting procedures and conventions across the five eye community.• Developed the JTAC MOA, initiated the proliferation of Joint Fires Observers standards across a broad coalition and advised on writing of US CIVCAS mitigation doctrine.

Special Ops Command And Control Element, Bagram, Afghanistan

• Deployed to Afghanistan and supported all ISAF special operations forces in Kabul and Eastern Afghanistan.• Synchronized the work of 7 special operations task forces from different nations in support of CJTF 82 and Regional Command Capital.• Established the first integrated SOCCE of ISAF SOF, OEF and CJSOTF forces.

British Army Catterick, North Yorkshire, Uk

• Appointed commander of the UK’s command and staff training facility. Physically and conceptually refurbished existing facility and designed and project managed construction of new multi million pound wing.• Took lead responsibility for training UK Battle Group and Brigade Headquarters for operations in Afghanistan.• Pioneered the integration of influence operations into effects based planning in Afghanistan.

Liverpool / Manchester Uk

• Led a unit of 600 personnel and completed conversion from air defense to close support artillery (light guns). • Integrated the first artillery reserve soldiers into a deployment cycle for their role in Operation Herrick, Afghanistan.• Liaised with local industrial and civic leadership to invigorate reserve recruitment in NW England.

British Army Contingent, United Nations Peace Keeping Force , Nicosia, Cyprus

• Designed and executed training in order to re-role 600 man artillery Regiment into three rifle companies.• Responsible for all operational security and intelligence planning in a multi- agency environment.• Mediated in meetings between Cypriot and Turkish military leadership.

3Rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, Hohne Germany/Kuwait/Iraq

• Designed and executed pre-deployment training for UK’s first 32 gun, 155mm gun group.• Commanded the Gun Group, 32 Guns, 800 men in warfighting operations supporting UK and US during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. • Transitioned to command to a post conflict, PSO environment, forming a ground holding Battle group with responsibility for COIN operations in an AO that ranged from Basra Palace to the tip of the Al-Faw Peninsula in Southern Iraq.Awarded: Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service.

Lisburn, Northern Ireland

• Synchronized multi agency activities across Northern Ireland as the principal planning and operations major including retrograde operations in S Armagh and Belfast.• Acted as Northern Ireland HQ’s first point of contact for all serious incidents out of office hours and deputized as authorizing officer up to 3* level.Awarded: Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service.

British Army, Royal Artillery Catterick North Yorkshire / Heidelberg Germany

• Served as XO Force Artillery for NATO’s ACE Mobile Force, conducting two seasons Arctic training in N Norway.• Commanded a gun group of 10 batteries each from a different nation, on exercises in Italy and Hungary.• Designed and executed multi nation live fire artillery training in Italy, Hungary, Spain and UK.

Armoured Gun Battery, Hohne, Germany / York, England / Prijador, Bosnia

• Led a 155mm armored Gun Battery and tactical observation group consisting of 220 personnel.• Supported a Czech Battle Group with technical fires and general military advice in Prijador and Mrkonjić Grad. • Planned and lead observation and intelligence gathering operations along the inter entity boundary line between Bosnia and Serbia.

4 Armd Bde, Osnabruck Germany, Sipovo Bosnia-Herzegovina

• Deployed to Bosnia as OPSO 4 Armd Bde at the time of the Dayton Agreement and planned and executed multi-national operations as part of the NATO Force.• Attached to the 1st Malaysian Battle Group as an advisor to the Battle Group Commander.

94 New Zealand Battery Osnabruck, Germany / Belfast, Northern Ireland

• Commanded 120 strong Headquarters battery including command and locating elements.• Acted as Artillery Operations Officer 4 Regiment RA. • Re-roled Battery to conduct infantry patrolling and specialist reconnaissance operations in Northern Ireland.

• Synchronized and administered training activity for recruit training at the Royal Artillery Depot providing trained recruits to 16 Regiments.• Designed and executed training mandatory career training for all Warrant Officers in the Royal Artillery.

40Th Regiment Royal Artillery Hohne Germany / Iraq & Kuwait,

Apr 1989-May 1991• Trained as a Fire Support Team Commander and Forward Air Controller with 40th Regiment Royal Artillery. • Deployed with the British Desert Rats and USMC 2nd ANGLICO providing CAS and indirect fire during Operation Desert Storm.

Royal Artillery, Dortmund Germany

• Commanded gun troop and a forward observation troop in conventional armoured gunnery. • Conducted patrols on the Inner German Border during the Cold War.

East Tyrone, Northern Ireland

• Served as a troop commander and close observation platoon commander in East Tyrone, synchronized and executed military activities with a wide variety of specialist agencies. • Developed experience in small team skills, close target reconnaissance in sensitive and isolated environments, and rural and urban patrolling techniques.• Forged a detailed tactical understanding of internal security, counter insurgency operations and unconventional warfare.
