COURSE AND PROJECT EXPERIENCESenior Capstone Design Project: CO2 nose cone ejection system. The rocket was equipped with a flightcomputer that is able to detect apogee by using a barometer to measure a sudden drop in pressure.After apogee is detected, the system triggers, sparking an E-match and puncturing the CO2 canister. Thecompressed CO2 is then released into the nose cone chamber and pressure builds until the shear pinspop and there is successful ejection. The project’s purpose was to exercise engineering design principles:chemical reactions, stress analysis, thermal expansion and material selection. I drafted using CAD andused Solidworks Simulation to perform stress analysis before prototyping and testing the design.Smaller Projects: Worked on a small vehicle powered solely by a piston and an Arduino. Additionalexperience in smaller projects involving data collection and analysis using an Arduino. Completed Seniorlevel coursework including control systems, 3D CAD (Solidworks) and design projects.
