In early 2023, I accepted the role of CEO at Ubihere. It has been an exciting journey and we have built an amazing team of engineers and support professionals. We have started to realize the vision of founder, Dr. Alper Yilmaz, to be a leading AI-based hardware/software solutions developer focused on geospatial intelligence. In 2024, Ubihere will be launching commercial hardware tracking and IoT systems and an easily customizable customer specific vision-based business intelligence generation solution. Ubihere is a geospatial analytics company based on intellectual property invented at The Ohio State University. Ubihere allows an organization to optimize their peak operational performance by tracking people, assets and equipment in three dimensions in real time. Utilizing Ubihere's patented advanced positioning analytics to map assets, companies receive insights into various aspects of their organization's operations.

In my role as Co-Fund Manager at Ohio Gateway Tech Fund, I led pre-seed investments in Ohio-based technology start-ups, contributing to the growth of the state's start-up ecosystem. I collaborated with partners to establish a funding partnership with Ohio Third Frontier's Pre-Seed Fund Capitalization Program, ensuring strategic support for portfolio companies. Through due diligence and strategic guidance, I played a key role in driving the success of our investments.

After supporting successful commercialization of technologies for over 20 years and spending the last 6 years at Ohio State supporting their commercialization efforts, I co-founded Converge Technologies to put into practice that education and experience. Converge is a full service commercialization support company aligning business advisory and engineering services to ensure successful outcomes for our clients. These resources will also be utilized to develop a number of high-value high-technology start-ups driven by market demand. These start-ups will follow Converge's efficient commercialization and lean launch process ensuring a higher than normal success rate with less than average venture capital dilution. We also intend to use Converge to support the manufacturing ecosystem in Ohio through the development of a public-private program focused on small business growth support, workforce training, and other relevant topics.

The position allowed me the opportunity to commercialize technology through large scale industrial collaborations which involve existing companies (large and small) supporting the translation of university technologies into commercial embodiment. I had the opportunity to support university startups in their efforts to reduce to practice their university licensed technologies allowing them to practice the innovation commercially. During my time at the Center, I led the development of new programs such as the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), the student experiential entrepreneurship education (E3) program, and many other exciting initiatives. Though my position at CDME, I built a statewide support system for the commercialization of technologies targeted to the manufacturing ecosystem.

I actively sought out and was employed within the Technology Commercialization Office within Ohio State. My position allowed me the opportunity to discover amazing new technologies and identify the best way to commercialize them. This could include licensing, partnerships, joint ventures or creating a new start-up around the technology. My position allowed me the flexibility to determine the best course of action to create value for the University and the individual inventors.

I served as a Trustee in a volunteer position with the CRC to provide oversight and guidance in their ongoing operations as a settlement house in Columbus. Additionally, I served as on the finance committee during their capital campaign to purchase a new building, which they successfully did in 2013.

Responsible for creating and executing the strategic vision of the company. This includes activities such as acquisitions, organic growth strategy, product development and commercialization, corporate branding, marketing campaigns, and other such tasks. Responsible for development and successful execution of the company’s 3 year business plan. This includes goal setting, budgeting, market analysis, product sales and profit and loss management. Served on the Board of Director’s Audit and Ethics Committees over multiple years.During my tenure as President at DSCI: the company increased operating margins significantly; grew top line revenue and bottom line EBITDA; grew from 400 employees to over 750 employees; achieved 70% CAGR in revenue over the previous 5 year period; opened additional locations worldwide.At the time of my departure, the company had physical offices at 15 worldwide locations, onsite presence at many more and generated over $270 million in annual revenue.

Responsible for daily operations of 75% of the company including profit and loss, utilization goals, annual budgeting, achieving growth goals, employee welfare and other corporate functions. Responsible for operational input into the 3 year business plan and relevant briefings to the Board.Responsible for forming new operating divisions and seeking growth into parallel market segments.Company grew from 325 employees to over 400 during my tenure as COO.

Established a new operating division in 2003 which was one of four such groups. Began the division with the 14 employees I had grown in my previous position in the company. At the time, this represented approximately 40% of all revenue generating employees in the company. Over the 5 years in this position, I grew the operating division to 110 revenue generating employees utilizing strictly organic growth.Established the company’s presence in commercial products with the successful launch of a software suite. Awarded a patent for the resulting technology.Assisted in the acquisition and integration of two synergistic companies. These two companies formed new operating divisions within the company.

Hired by the company to technically manage a new custom software development effort with a team of 3 employees. Over the next several years grew my local office and opened other US sites for a total of 14 employees over 4 programs. Moved to Germany to establish the company’s overseas presence and enter into new customer relationships. Overseas operations currently constitute approximately 30% of the company’s revenue. Responsible for forming new operating divisions and seeking growth into parallel market segments. Awarded employee of the year award in my second year with the company.
