As a Network Engineer, I'm responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. My goal is to ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability to my users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers.

Provide server and network support, to the Swanton School system, in Swanton Ohio.Schedule upgrades, preventive maintenance, and security patches to all servers and workstations.Implement various solutions in regards to security and productivity, including installation and setup of Microsofts WSUS server.Implementation and utilization of VMware's Vsphere 4 server, to virtualize servers, using both VMware's P2V software as well as Symantec's Backup Exec System Recovery backup files, achieving a much higher level of fault tolerance.Most recently developed a system to automatically push any of our packaged applications, to any of our 500+ client workstations silently at bootup or login, using Group Policy, and VB-Scripting.

Managed various groups of individuals as lead technician, in numerous support areas and projects, including desktop support, refinery turn-around project support, and hardware fleet refresh projects.Led a team of various technicians to completely restructure the hardware and software environment at Sunoco's Toledo Refinery, over the course of 4 years.Worked with various teams to completely rewire the entire network infrastructure of the main office building in Toledo.Identified potential problems and provided resolution in regards to the distribution of over 800 applications.Maintained all reporting for the customer on any distribution running, and provided weekly updates to senior management.

Supported over 600 workstations, over 150 printers, and assorted peripherals.Provided 24/7 escalation support for all server and workstation related issues.Built, migrated, and administered workstations using Altiris Express Deployment Solution.Worked network connectivity issues between servers and switches for Ethernet, and fiber connections.Provided solutions for remote VPN connectivity issues for all off site users.Support for mainframe applications, and mainframe printing.

Support of all desktop and laptop computers, printers, and peripherals at Owens Corning World Headquarters.Performed backups and restores using Veritas backup exec.Monitor backups, and changing backup tapes as needed throughout the day, at the end of the day, and at the end of each week.Building and shipping servers to remote Owens Corning facilities.Remote support of members of the sales department, and other technicians at different customer locations around the world.Troubleshoot remote connectivity issues involving vpn software and personal routers used by sales people in home offices as well as hotel rooms.
