Drove the innovation and development of inRiver's Product Information Management (PIM) SaaS platform from a regional market to the top three PIM platforms globally. Delivered a complete Data Syndication product as part of the product suite. Total data flexibility to support a very wide array of industry implementations utilizing directive AI for product image interpretation. Created the Product Management practice at inRiver increasing engagement with our partners and customers. SaaS hosting through a multi-regional Microsoft Azure implementation. Managed development teams in Sweden, US, and Mexico.

As Pansophic Learning's CTO & CIO, Eric drove technology strategy and operations for virtual and brick & mortar schools in K-12, pre-K, early learning, and higher education worldwide in the US, UK, UAE, Switzerland, and Uganda. He defined and delivered technology product strategy for a complete school operating ecosystem to include instructional tools, curriculum delivery, learning analytics, and commercial product integrations in support of traditional classroom, blended, and virtual learning. Transformed school infrastructure from on-premise to the cloud to accommodate large scale online curriculum and testing needs across 100 locations.

Drove future technology strategy, vision and innovation for SaaS education products and managed a department comprised of 450 FTE’s located in multiple locations across the United States plus Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru. Defined multi-year product and technology strategy to drive engagement, academic transparency, analytical analysis, and student achievement for learning management, predictive and adaptive curriculum authoring and delivery, and school enrollment and operations. Delivered rich media virtual and classroom-based schooling applications for teaching and learning management, and adaptive lesson delivery. Delivered Item Response Theory (IRT) adaptive testing solution using Bayesian probability engine. Defined new architecture with corresponding technology stack to drive a highly asynchronous and richer application experience with Big Data infrastructure, HTML5, responsive design, real-time video, real-time communication, and analysis of user behavior. Led transformation to SCRUM-based agile development tightly integrated with business stakeholders. Key features include microservice-oriented architecture, linear scalability, and high availability with flexible deployment patterns. Performed duties as the interim CIO for nine months responsible for all technology infrastructure, multiple data centers, corporate IT, and public company compliance and disclosures.

Led a team of 74 FTE’s in the development and daily operations of the Cash Committing, Pricing,Eligibility, and Hedging suite of systems that included Systems Analysis, Development, QualityAssurance, and Technology Operations responsible for up to $1 Billion of cash transactions per dayfrom thousands of lenders utilizing live real-time market pricing. Drove process change initiatives that reduced overall level of risk managed for projects, dramatically reduced environment migrations, increased transparency, reduced overall project churn, and removed a 5-year backlog of application features in 18 months.

Successfully delivered 3 generations and interim enhancements of the SaaS web-based product designed to manage and deliver distance learning for K-12, pre-K, early learning, and higher education including rich media curriculum content development tools. Delivered a SaaS web-based Student Information System and Enrollment Portal utilized by public virtual charter schools to manage student enrollment and records management. Delivered two generations of business systems that included eCommerce, merchandising, order management, fulfillment, and billing. Key features include microservice-oriented architecture, linear scalability, and high availability with flexible deployment patterns.

Delivered 6 releases of the SaaS enterprise eCommerce product that won "Best of Show" at Internet Commerce Expo while providing aggressive competition against BroadVision, Blue Martini, and ATG winning the majority of deals. Participated in the sales process by representing product offerings and technical architecture to close deals working closely with channel partners to enhance products and support their sales efforts. Released 3 new products simultaneously along with major update to eCommerce product to include OLAP-based Business Intelligence, Consumer Direct and Business Direct Solutions, and Enterprise Application Integration with key features including microservice-oriented architecture, linear scalability, high availability with 100% customer SLA’s, completely extensible database engine utilizing XML schemas, rules-based personalization based on profile and affinity, and robust marketing and merchandising functionality.

Drove the Commercial Products business unit that included Product Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, Software Development, and Customer Service. In charge of product direction, business development, P&L, and financials. Performed sales analysis and projections to drive the sales pipeline. Worked with potential investors to secure a term sheet in support of product expansion. Restructured customer service functions to provide streamlined and cost-effective support process. Responsible for all aspects of product architecture, development, and product direction for the WhiteBox Software Analysis tool that parsed C/C++ and Java to calculate complexity metrics and instrument source code for advanced code-coverage analysis and the Fault Injection Security Tool that injected random or targeted faults into parsed code simulating security attacks and failure response.

Manager and technical architect developing a commercial metadata repository product in support of data warehousing and data administration through a graphical client/server application. Took charge of existing product that was in dire condition and brought it to market in 6 weeks and continued enhancements through five quarterly releases.

From 1984 through 1995 held various positions in software engineering, software architecture, and development management building software for 2D/3D analysis and design of cellular phone network coverage and interference against terrain, sales support and operating systems, call dispatch and inventory systems, and worked as a programmer/operator at the space shuttle launch complex support set in Launch Control Center, Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
