Created the financial capacity to support new programs including 3 PhD’s programs, and add 416K square feet of academic and administrative space and student housing. •Created detailed five year financial projections by campus that identified opportunities to leverage strategic advantages. Led functional teams that developed and executed the operating plans, significantly improving the financial performance of two underperforming campuses. •Implemented tight financial controls which improved revenues by 44.6%, grew operating margin by 631% from $2.9 million to $21.2 million, and increased Unrestricted Net Assets by 116.4% to 258.2 million between FY2005 and FY2012. In 2013, Moody’s raised ERAU’s debt rating for the second time in 3 years.•Managed the two year process involving 45 employees and consultants to implement a new $10 million student information system to support the rapid growth of the Worldwide Campus.•Developed the financials for a satellite operation in Singapore. Traveled to Singapore with the University’s president to finalize the contract. The program commenced in February 2011 and now has 200 plus students. •Improved internal controls by requiring new business proposals to be assessed for legal and business risks, and implemented a university wide database to record all new contracts. •Turned around a non-performing contract for an FAA next generation test facility by restructuring the management team, and implementing tighter controls that restored operational success.

A $3 billion NYSE electric and gas utility•Renewed a $195 million credit facility during the period when the rating agencies downgraded a record number of energy companies and several refinancing deals failed after Enron’s bankruptcy. Aggressively addressed issues raised by the lead bank and added 3 new banks to the syndicate. The facility was 25% oversubscribed. •Prepared the formal response to the rating agencies’ urgent queries about rating triggers in the Company’s trading agreements, following Enron’s covenant violations which caused its bankruptcy. The rating agencies reaffirmed OGE’s credit rating. •Represented the CFO on an investor trip to Florida and Bermuda to present the Company’s financial plan. Increased the number of large money fund managers who added OGE to their list of recommended stocks.•Presented a financial review to Lloyds of London in the UK that led to the successful renewal of OGE’s property and casual coverage after Lloyds reduced its exposure because of losses in the energy sector.

Managed a 10 bank syndicate that issued $864 million in bonds to lower its overall cost of capital. It was the largest bond issue in Illinois Power’s history. •Preserved liquidity which was virtually exhausted after IP had to purchase $140 million in electricity on the spot market to cover a short position. Created a cash management plan, alerted key stakeholders, and approved all spending, and avoided bankruptcy.
