I graduated from UNCA in December 2017 with a B.S. in Computer Science. I'm savvy with a wide range of languages/technologies, but am most familiar with back-end work in Java and Golang.With Java, I have experience working in wide variety of environments and tech stacks. I have worked on Kafka-eventing systems, design and implementation of REST APIs (mostly with Spring Boot), and developed thick and thin Java clients. A lot of my recent work has ultimately been deployed to the cloud via AWS, and I am familiar with project management tools such as Gradle/Maven. I prefer Git as source control, and have the most CI/CD experience in the GitLab pipeline.With Golang, I have experience writing applications that leverage Go's unique resource management abilities, focusing on highly performant code that meets stringent memory, CPU, and speed requirements. I have used Go to modernize systems, translating old EBCDIC encoded data to more readable ASCII.I enjoy working with databases, both SQL such as MySQL and NoSQL such as DynamoDB. I have spent some time in 3D development environments (Unreal Engine, Unity), and enjoy coding in those environments with both visual scripting and C#.An intrepid learner, I am always seeking new ways to grow. I thrive when presented with challenges that require use of my creativity, logic, and hard work.I have held a TS/SCI clearance, but am not currently look to get back into the military industry.
