Developed and Implemented a Strategy for transforming the culture of the Salisbury, NC manufacturing plant to establish Lean Management system and employee engagement. Partnered with the local leadership team to train and coach them on how to create culture where there is ownership at all levels and each person is a problem solver.♦ Created a management standard work of Gemba Walks and accountability.♦ Introduced and trained the Plant on the use of the A3 problem solving tool for customer complaints and Kaizen improvements. Delivered 49% reduction in Customer Complaint Rate in 6 months.♦ Enhanced and standardized the 5S program to drive the ownership and accountability to the production floor. Directed a plant wide cost savings project that will deliver estimated annual savings of $1.2Milion over 2011 budget. Savings are delivered through a combination of material cost savings, reduction in process waste and operator efficiency. Engaged with all levels of the plant from plant production operators, supply chain and plant management to perform in-depth root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Utilized established Lean manufacturing techniques such as Visual management and production load leveling to create better manufacturing flow and eliminate waste♦ Created precious metals recycling program to reduce treatment fee and increase yields.♦ Finished product fill weight tolerance improvement yields saved 5% of material usage at 3 major production facilities worldwide. Savings projected to be $530K annually♦ Direct and indirect labor efficiencies through improved visual work management and standard work. Created load leveling planning process to eliminate 5% overtime.

Managed a major plant wide initiative focused on creating a significant reduction in; risks and claims, customer complaints, process scrap with the ultimate benefit of increased sales (less lost business, more new business). The Project initiative is based on a combination of proven continuous improvement techniques, primarily Lean Manufacturing coupled with hardware and process based error-proofing methodologies.♦ Introduced the A3 problem solving method (Plan – Do – Check – Act) to operator teams to focus the teams on creating more efficient and better solutions. Implemented a New method of Standard Work based on established industry standard Kaizen tools.♦ Lowered 2011 customer complaints by 30% over 2010 by founding new engineering group. Ablestik was a subsidiary of National Starch & Chemical Company that manufactures specialty adhesives for the electronic and aerospace industries. Responsibilities include scale up of R&D products from development to High Volume Manufacturing, and troubleshooting of production equipment and products. Served as Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing, building and upgrading equipment.♦ Drove the process improvement of Wafer Backside Coating Adhesive to eliminate oversize particles, reduced the manufacturing time from 5days to 3days. Project impact saved approximately $80K in corrective action’s and scrap.♦ Utilized stage gate process, problem solving methodology and statistical analysis tools to characterize the raw materials, optimize the scale-up of film based adhesives.
