Eric retired from Mazars in March 2018, having Joined the firm in Birmingham in November 2013 with a brief to lead the growth of the Birmingham Tax Advisory business. With over 30 years experience in the field, he has specialised in tax and wealth planning for wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs and their companies, using a commercial, technically focussed and integrated approach that recognises entrepreneurs and the businesses that they own as a single composite client. Eric's advisory principles are based on the understanding that tax planning for such companies is not just about Corporation Tax for the companies but, also the related inheritance tax, capital gains tax or income tax issues that might affect the Entrepreneurs who own those companies. His approach is an integrated one, taking into account all relevant taxes, whether corporate or personal.Eric was the Only Birmingham Private Client professional Included in the 2012 and 2013 Private Client Practitioner list of the "50 Most Influential" in the Private Client field in the UK and he has also been named for the last 3 years in the CityWealth Leaders list. Eric has spoken extensively at external conferences on tax planning for non-doms, on Domicile and Residence and on Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning for wealthy individuals. He is Also experienced in defence work and negotiations with tax authorities in cases of tax avoidance and serious tax fraud.In February 2017, Eric was appointed UK Head of Tax for Mazars with responsibility for leading the Mazars tax practice throughout the UK. on 31 March 2018, Eric retired from Mazars, and is now semi-retired, undertaking a limited amount of business consultancy work.

Retired from Grant Thornton in June 2013 after 18 years as a partner, specialising in tax,estate planning and wealth structuring advice for wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs and their companies. Led the Firm's Birmingham Tax business for 13 years, during which time, the business grew by approximately 600%. Head of the Grant Thornton Private Client practice for 5 years from 2008 and well known speaker on Private Client issues, especially domicile, residence and tax planning for non-doms and tax and wealth planning for Entrepreneurs. Named in the Private Client Practitioner list of the 50 most influential practitioners in the UK in both 2012 and 2103.
