I have joined Cartlidge Morland's in house investment team, currently going through induction. I will expand upon this in the coming week, but can say I've had a great first day.

I am responsible for managing TAM's Euro denominated model portfolios and a host of peripheral models we offer on a multitude of online platforms, such as Aviva, Transact and Acentric. I sit on TAM's Investment Committee which takes a top-down approach to managing money for clients in the UK, Europe and further afield.

I started as an Investment Analyst, sitting on the Investment Committee, and also progressed into dealing for the company as I gained experience. Between 2018 and 2020, I headed and developed the newly created in-house dealing team and saw it through to successfully handing it over to the fully trained dealers who now run it independently.

I interned every summer with TAM during my time at university, learning from every member of staff about how various aspects of the business worked. I also started fund analysis, selection and portfolio construction.

Two weeks work experience with this IFA led to a three month part time job. I then joined the BA Finance, Investment & Risk course at Glasgow Caledonian University following this experience. It was a real crossroad for me and I haven't looked back since.
