Reporting to the CEO, I manage the day to day operations of the tile and stone business. My primary focus is on the upcoming bid opportunities, project management of current backlog while working with the Superintendents on company safety protocol and quality control measures. I am involved with annual strategic planning of the company, insurance program and special project planning/execution.

Responsible for managing bid schedules and individual goals for all estimators in the company. Review project docs so that we can assign to the appropriate teams. Review all large projects and proposals for strategy of bid and costing prior to submission. Work with the CEO on proposal follow ups and communication with clients to facilitate landing of bids. Participate in annual strategic planning on clients and types of work we will focus on in the upcoming year.

Work on budgets, contructability reviews, value engineering, proposals for commercial projects ranging from malls, casinos, hotels, office building, healthcare, higher education and government. I communicate with the client on their needs and work with upper management on strategy for project budgets and builds.

Co-managing a Tile and Stone subcontracting business with Clayton Peck. We are targeting Bay Area Non-Union work in Multifamily, Commercial, Residential and Tenant Improvements.We self perform installations ranging from ceramic/porcelain tile, glass tile and block, stone tile and pavers, tile/stone exterior veneers, and stone counter tops.

Estimating and Managing multiple projects at a time in commercial, multifamily, medical, TI, education with scopes of work in Tile, Stone and Terrazzo with scope values from $10,000 to in excess of $2 million. Notable Projects; 1190 Mission, Swinerton ($1.8 mill), 717 Battery, BCCI ($1.1 mill), Kaiser Oakland, McCarthy ($1.6 mill)- Receiving and reviewing bid invites and communicating with General Contractors on upcoming work- Reviewing and analyzing bid documents for takeoffs and budgeting- Structuring bid proposals and submitting to General Contractor- Follow up on bid proposals and negotiating with General Contractor over scope and cost of work for contracts.- Managing contracts throughout all phases of the work including closeout and warranty.- Additional document review and costing for changes to scope of work on contracts.

Started with the company brand new to the tile industry in the field as an installer. As time progressed I was offered a position in the office to learn project management and estimating eventually working up to Chief Estimator.- Journeyman Tile Finisher 2003- Apprentice Tile Setter 2004- Project Manager & Estimator 2004, Reviewing bid documents and performing takeoffs and budgets for proposals. Managed contracts for work that I landed and contracts that the Senior Estimator landed through all phases of work, submittals, installation and closeout.- Chief Estimator 2007, Responsible for reviewing all bid invites and discussing with estimating team on types of work and projects that we would pursue. Review estimators bid logs and capture rates to determine where our time was best spent. Reviewing and signing off on all major bids by other estimators. Bidding and managing my own projects with ranges from $100,000 to in excess of $2 million.
