I work in Babak Momeni's Lab doing research on the microbial detoxification of food from aflatoxin using degradation enzymes. Specifically, using Tv laccase expressed from Pichia pastoris GS115. I purify the enzymes using a protein chromatography and then test their ability to degrade aflatoxin with a degradation essay by measuring absorbance and fluorescence emitted. I then use MATLAB to determine the satistical significance of the degradation of aflatoxin based on the fluorescence.

I taught and led 4 weekly classes of beginner and advanced levels students and coached 10 advancing students for their black belt promotion test

I supervised 30+ students during camp activities, field trips, and discussions to ensure safety and engagement. In addition I taught eight, 1-hour art and origami classes to students in an effort to develop students’ creativity
