About Erica Pendleton, Ed.D.

I am an award winning Art Education Specialist at Fulton County Schools, where I have been working for over 19 years. I have an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia State University, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University, and a B.A. in Art Education from Temple University. I am passionate about creating and supporting inclusive, differentiated, and positive rapport-building strategies through relationship building as an instructional tool, with sociocultural and socioemotional learning foundations.As an Art Education Specialist, I plan, organize, and create curriculum-based, standard assessments for the Visual Arts department, using appropriate, equitable, and inclusive language and grading scales. I also work collaboratively with multiple grade level teams to vertically integrate curricular content and streamline assessment. In addition, I serve as a mentor teacher for new teachers of all content areas, providing individual support, guidance, and resources to assist them with their instructional, relational, and personal needs. Furthermore, I am a member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, where I act as a liaison between the classroom and the county level leadership, and advocate for and represent faculty, staff, and student populations at the administrative level. I also contribute to the creation, implementation, and maintenance of inclusive, equitable academic spaces within the county.
