Designed a series of experiments and performed CFD simulations in COMSOL Multiphysics to optimize the flow pattern within Membio's hollow fibre membrane bioreactor. Created an Excel VBA spreadsheet to determine the optimal operating conditions for the flow controllers regulating the bioreactor system.

Instigated a project with the goal of improving the quality and product consistency of Tic Tac X-Freeze. Assisted in the performance of trials aimed to improve product quality and process efficiency, and reduce downtime, waste, and cost. Assisted in the launch of a new Tic Tac flavour; tasks included: calculations to determine the required quantity of raw materials, as well as the preparation of documents to guide and support operators on the line. Identified non-conformities within the plant, assisted in implementing 5S methodology, and evaluated key performance indicators.

Initiated a project streamlining the sourcing of conveyor belts; estimated to reduce lead times by 50-60%. Negotiated the procurement of equipment and managed the purchase of supplies and services. Prepared a presentation for senior management highlighting plant logistics and upcoming projects.Assisted other departments including Engineering, Environmental and Sustainability, and Plant Logistics with required tasks. Improved the waste management tracker used to evaluate and predict cost and environmental impact.

Designed HVAC systems to meet size, cost, building code, and occupant comfort requirements. Managed incoming RFQs, assessed which opportunities to bid, and communicated decisions with contractors. Prepared takeoffs: counted and selected equipment required, estimated cost, and prepared bill of materials’. Developed a progress tracker for incoming co-op students to improve organization and multitasking abilities. Created a macros-enabled Excel worksheet that reduces air handling unit failure and minimizes site visits.
