As the Vice President of Strategy and Analysis at Beazer Homes, my goal is to reduce risk and maximize market and performance opportunity by employing data-rich methods, tools, and strategies to provide decision makers the information to make sound decisions. My team leverages cutting-edge statistical modeling techniques to develop a vast library of tools that provide excellent intelligence to inform leadership across multiple functions across the organization, both at the corporate level and across the field within our Divisions. One recent major accomplishment has been the development and deployment a proprietary buyer segmentation system that helps our company understand who our buyers are or should be and how to reach them across all of the four major P’s. For end users, it is simple to understand and easy to build a strategy around.My key areas of impact span from internal performance assessment to project specific market feasibility and all of the way to factors that are external to the homebuilding industry, but influence our opportunity, like macro-economic trends.

Erica Champion, Senior Real Estate Economist, researches and analyzes trends in U.S. property markets, with a strong focus on national apartment trends and strategy, as well as the broader housing market. Based in CoStar Group’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, she is also the shop’s expert on commercial real estate trends in the nation’s capital. In addition to authoring a recurring column for the Washington Post, Erica’s research has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, and she has been frequently quoted in other news publications. She advises private and public clients on issues ranging from recommendations on precursory market and site selection, feasibility of proposed projects, and repositioning of assets or development projects.

Erica joined RCLCO in 2006, after serving as a Senior Financial Analyst with a boutique real estate finance company that provided developer-end financing in the vacation ownership industry.During her three year tenure at RCLCO, she had the pleasure of working on a broad range of private and public-sector engagements throughout the southeast, developing an ability to combine market-based analysis with consumer research and financial analysis to provide strategic guidance to developers, land owners, investors, and municipalities/public entities.
