Oversees a team of six responsible for privacy compliance for largest academic hospital system in Indiana.

McDaniel Hamilton, LLP was a law firm dealing primarily with issues related to business development, business litigation, and estates. As a partner, I was responsible for assorted casework, accounting, and contracting. The firm closed at the end of June 2015 when Michael McDaniel, the other partner in the firm, moved his practice to join Reiling Teder & Schrier out of Lafayette, Indiana. He is currently providing legal services in the Indianapolis, Zionsville, Carmel, and Lafayette marketplaces.

Responsible for maintenance of commercial accounts by performing contract reviews, negotiating quotes, and preparing proposals using agency management systems. First point of contact for all inquiries, issues, and requests.

Responsible to research, write, file, and implement the most complex policy and certificate forms for group and individual major medical products, ancillary products, long term care products and HMO products. Creates and maintains documentation for individual/group certificates/policies. Works independently, and with other senior specialists, attorneys, and outside vendors to identify complex issues/solutions by analysis, testing and resolution.

Responsible for completion of immigration applications for the DREAM Act by interviewing applicants, completing the immigration forms, and communicating with reviewing attorneys possible issues with each application.

Conducted case studies on the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the Indiana Plumbing Commission, which were used in a state-wide study of all Executive Branch Agencies conducted at the request of Governor Mitch Daniels. Responsible for interviewing agency board members and employees, researching agency code and rules, and analyzing possible legislative changes.

Responsible for hospital privacy and security research and advice within department, intensive contract review, negotiation, composition, legal research, customer service, and database design and organization. Worked closely with IU Health general counsel to manage risk and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsible for coordinating the definition, development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of a consistent Access Control program.

Responsible for experiment planning, animal surgeries and general care, general laboratory experiment maintenance, and supervision of undergraduate workers. Completed an honors research study and thesis on sexual dimorphism in rat brains.
