The Promise Place School is a home and educational program for homeless LGBTQI youth that have been rejected by their families. Currently there are over 600,000 of our youth living on the streets of America. Our proposed site is set on 10 acres on Buzzards Bay on Cape Cod. Our goal is to create a safe loving home for homeless LGBTQI youth that we can use as a model to take nationwide. By including an educational program grades 6-12 we can educate our youth in a positive learning environment free of fear. We are working to provide America's Promise, "No Child Left Behind." The facilities will also offer an LGBTQIA Sea Camp during the summer months.

After many years away from acting Erica is accepting roles as a character actress. Currently she is under consideration for two film roles portraying her as a human rights activist and speaker. Erica is a multi talented actress with deep roots in the creation and follow thru of whatever character she takes on. At 61 her own life experience allows her to bring forth the emotions necessary to amplify the character onto the screen.

San Francisco Bay Area

Erica will make a public appearance as featured speaker at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in San Francisco on Sunday, November 20, 2011. She will be addressing bullying within our schools and educating on the Transgender Birth Condition. She will also speak to the need for volunteers and fund raising issues for the LGBT Speakers Bureau to the congregation.

Erica Lobby's for Fully Inclusive Equal Human Rights legislation, transgender rights, and for funding to bring an end to the plight of the 600,000 homeless LGBTQ youth in the US. These are youth which have been rejected by their families. They have been thrown away simply because they are LGBTQ. It is well documented that 40% of these young people will commit suicide before their 26th birthday.

Currently writing an expose on the pending legislation in Texas to ban Transgender Marriages which will single out only Transgender Females who are married to males. Even in light of the current medical evidence available Texas is still living in the dark ages of transphobic fear. Recently, another Transgender Female, happily married and with her husbands clear understanding about her medical history fell victim to the States transphobia when her marriage was invalidated as a same sex marriage after her Firefighter Husband was killed in a fire. All of this to deny her the widows benefits she so rightly deserves.

Erica speaks publicly about the abuses faced against Transgenders including the sensless and brutal murders every year around the world to bring education regarding a birth condition which is highly misunderstood and feared through the lack of education on the subject. Erica's activism doesn't stop with transgender issues. She will speak out to make her voice heard on all human rights violations. "Absence of Justice: The Erica Kay Story" is the autobiography of Erica Kay-Webster. Historically Erica is one of the first persons to undergo sexual reassignment surgery in this country and probably the youngest. She underwent surgery at the age of 17 and is currently 63 years old. Dr. Harry Benjamin was her therapist. Erica lived successfully in deep stealth for almost thirty years having a prominent career until 1995 when she became the focus of transphobia and her gender assignment surgery was on the cover of every tabloid in the world. Her marriage was invalidated as a same sex marriage in Georgia and since she was no longer legally married she was convicted of theft by taking of the family auto. Erica spent 4 years in prison, studied the law, filed her own Habeas Corpus and sued the State of Georgia in Federal Court based on Sexual Discrimination. Later she relocated to Panama City, Florida where she opened a business for Custom Drapery, Upholstery, and Interior Decorating. Once the old tabloids surfaced she was railroaded by the police and court system once again. On November 22, 2010 her conviction was overturned by the Florida Court of Appeals. She is currently suing the Panama City Police, The City of Parker, the Parker Police and two police detectives. Her story is a must read for anyone wanting to learn about the Transgender birth condition and the intense Transphobia which exists around the world. The screenplay is now underway with Monica Sun @ Shadow Majic Films/20th Century Fox and David Webster for a feature film of her life story. Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.

Erica was a frequent visitor to the Stonewall Inn beginning in January 1968 and was present on the night of June 27th. Shortly after midnight the Stonewall Inn was raided. Erica was handcuffed, arrested, thrown into a paddy wagon, and jailed. That nights events became the LGBT movement for Equality which continues today and is celebrated every year around the world during the Pride Events.

Moving Beyond Shame Life Empowerment Series is geared to the personal healing of trauma and deep seeded shame of old learned belief systems and to encourage personal growth through reclaiming the power within to move forward to live the life of dreams.
