I began my architectural career as an intern in a 10 person firm with a focus on hospitality, restaurant, and residential projects. I worked directly with the principal owner and the lead project manager for the duration of the three years of employment. This role focused on the core competencies needed to complete the bulk of the Intern Development Process with emphasis on schematic design, design development, construction document production, and construction administration. In my third year at Gonzalez Architects I took on an extra assignment in the preparation of project visualizations and presentations utilizing Revit, 3DS Max, VRay, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Premiere Pro. I completed numerous design presentations and several video and animation packages over the course of one year. Major projects of note include the complete renovation and expansion of The Casa Marina and Reach Resorts located in Key West, Florida, collaboration of the interior design for the Hotel Bel Air Spa, and the renovation of several Hilton Hotels located across the state of Florida.

Sergeant - Technical Engineering Specialist

I enlisted in the US Army in August 2001 as a Technical Engineering Specialist. After completing basic and advanced training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO I was stationed at Schofield Barracks on the island of Oahu as a member of the 65th Engineer Battalion where I was assigned as a member of the Battalion S3 staff office responsible for the coordination and execution of all operations and training events. Under the supervision of senior noncommissioned officers he tracked, distributed, and provided accountability for a 750K dollar ammunition account, and oversaw maintenance and upkeep of two Humvees, two utility trailers, one generator, and all field exercise equipment. I was assigned additional duties as the Battalion Reenlistment Sergeant and met or exceeded all reenlistment quotas for each of the six quarters served in the position. In 2004 I was deployed to Afghanistan as a member of the Combined Joint Task Force Engineering Headquarters, an 18 person team of soldiers and civilians composed of engineers, architects, and construction specialists. The office had primary oversight for all new infrastructure and reconstruction projects in the theater of operations. While in theater I also served as the primary aide to the Command Sergeant Major.
