Administrative Assistant For Student RecordsNew Trier High School District Apr 2001 - Nov 2006Winnetka & Northfield, IllinoisI was responsible for building the Master Schedules for both campuses; the New Trier Learning Center; Off Campus Placement; and Summer School. This involved working concurrently on 3 different databases, within 11 different “buildings” during select times of the year. I worked autonomously, updating my direct supervisor weekly on current and pending projects. I programmed and ran the Scheduling Algorithm to schedule students for both campuses during the regular school year. In my 5 years at New Trier I overhauled both the process of building the master schedule and the course request process so that when I would run the Algorithm the District went from a 70% completely scheduled student body to 95% completely scheduled student body. I trained and worked with the Advisers on entering their student's course requests. I created and generate the process and the reports to allow them to verify and correct any data entry errors. I created a process to eliminate scan sheets which took us from a 65% error free to 97% error free course selection process.I was in charge of the set-up and administration of the online Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduling System, this included creating a process for and administrating the "helpdesk". I worked with the company that created the program, and their programmers, to work out any bugs and make improvements on program for subsequent years. I was responsible for conflict resolution process that would take place after I would run the scheduling algorithm. I trained the "conflict resolvers" and worked with them to ensure that all students would receive complete schedules. As Co-President of the Support Professionals Association I worked with my Co-President to build a professional working relationship with the school administration. As well as develop a professional development program. This program included the input of the support professionals and had the support of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. -
Scheduling SpecialistEvanston Township High School Mar 1999 - Apr 2001Responsibilities included maintaining four separate databases, in both Pentamation and STARS/DCR, totaling seven different building areas. Building the Master Schedule for day school, Evening High School and Summer School in Pentamation. As well as maintained teacher and room catalogs, and the Master Schedule and Course Catalogs. Worked with an outside consultant to develop the Sectioning Report database and Staffing Report database to assist with building the schedules for the next school year. Worked with the Teacher’s Council to assign the teacher supervisory duties; maintained cumulative files for all 11 and 12th grade students, and the files for all of the “leftee students” as well as maintained their status in the Pentamation database. Other responsibilities included but were not limited to working closely with 12 counselors and the Special Education Lead Teachers in building schedules for new students, overloading courses for all grade levels, various schedule changes for 11 & 12th graders, and imputing the students requests for the next school year. I assisted with registration and the printing of various reports, helping with technical set-up. I developed different scan sheets, and grade book record pages using NCS Design Expert software. I was responsible for various reports that were for internal use and the Illinois State Board of Education; legal notification & destruction of student records; ongoing training of the faculty and staff for utilizing both software versions of Pentamation Student Management System; Semester Exam, Consumer Education Proficiency test, and Constitution test procedures; as well as utilizing Cognos Impromptu to develop various reports for district use.
