I am proud to be an intern at the HIV & Health Equity Program, where we are dedicated to ending the HIV epidemic and improving the overall health and wellness of the most marginalized Black and Latinx communities. Our approach is rooted in using a racial equity lens to address the social determinants of health, socioeconomic factors, and the institutional and structural policies and practices that enforce white supremacy, further disparities, and perpetuate stigma.At the HIV & Health Equity Program, we prioritize the use of person-first language, centering individuals rather than defining them by their condition. Our team engages in several impactful activities, including:- Utilizing storytelling to advocate for, engage, and mobilize communities most impacted by HIV through leadership development and training cohorts.- Collaborating with community-based organizations across the country to enhance the reach and effectiveness of our HIV prevention, testing, and care services.- Advancing new sexual health and wellness tools and resources through our bilingual My Body My Health public education campaign.I am excited to contribute to this transformative work and to be part of a team that is making a tangible difference in the fight against HIV and in the promotion of health equity.

In my role, I work closely with the prosecutor's office team to effectively communicate key messages and initiatives through various digital channels. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of social media trends and best practices, I craft compelling content that resonates with our target audience.Highlights of my responsibilities and achievements include:Website Management: Successfully maintaining and updating the prosecutor's office website to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for the public. Implementing user-friendly design elements and optimizing the website for better user experience and search engine visibility.Social Media Design: Conceptualizing and creating visually appealing designs for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Leveraging graphic design skills and tools to develop eye-catching visuals that effectively convey the prosecutor's office mission and values.Strategic Implementation: Developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies to enhance the office's online presence and engagement. Leveraging data analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, identify opportunities for improvement, and refine strategies for maximum impact.Community Engagement: Initiating and overseeing social outreach initiatives to actively engage with the community. Building and nurturing relationships with local organizations, influencers, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and raise awareness of the prosecutor's office initiatives.Through my work, I strive to foster positive relationships between the prosecutor's office and the community, creating an environment of trust, transparency, and effective communication. The Human Rights Campaign's HBCU PrEP Peer Educator Initiative seeks to eliminate HIV & AIDS-related stigma through public education regarding PrEP, HIV testing & treatment on HBCU campuses. As a Peer Educator, I am a vital resource as I deliver workshops and provide linkage to care with local community-based organizations. Some of the key areas of focus include but are not limited to, the following: HIV/AIDS education, trauma and stigma within the HBCU community, medication access, healthy Sex, policy, and advocacy on campus.
