With nearly 20 years of experience in education, educational technology/curriculum training and a life-long interest in art and design, I am passionate about creating engaging and inspiring spaces for learning and living. As a former elementary educator at Troy School District, where I taught ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Social Emotional wellbeing to a diverse population of students, I excelled in lesson planning/delivery, project management, and leading professional development opportunities for my colleagues. I also have a licentiate degree in teaching English as a second or foreign language, and a master's degree in reading and literacy. I have a collaborative and team building skillset and enjoy ongoing learning opportunities. I supported integration of education based tech applications in the Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and Apple software, and sought out other apps that were appropriate for curriculum goals. I contributed to and built product demonstrations to showcase how to launch delegations and integrations to staff and students. I provided software development and consultation to staff and parents. As a sales and design consultant at Detroit Wallpaper, I helped clients transform their homes and businesses with customized and sustainable wallpaper solutions. I applied my creative and technical skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to design and deliver stunning and unique projects. I volunteered as a TEFL teacher in the U.S. Peace Corps, where I learned to adapt to different cultures and environments. I am a lifelong learner and a collaborative team player, who values innovation, diversity, and excellence.
