As a Sr. Analyst, I assisted in a wide variety of tasks. I joined the company about a month after it announced the acquisition of the Technology Solutions segment of Avnet. Prior to the close of the acquisition in February 2017, I primarily worked on ad-hoc tasks related to the acquisition and its integration. Examples of tasks included one-time costs forecasting, transition services agreement (TSA) governance / tracking, organizational design and facilitation of the annual plan for the combined company. Once the integration was complete I was responsible for tracking cost synergies related to the deal.After the transaction closed, my responsibilities shifted to more traditional finance tasks. These tasks included consolidation of forecast and actual data for presentation to the CEO and CFO, quarterly guidance modeling for Wall Street, corporate headquarters budgeting, cash flow modeling, investor relations support and other special projects. I have become proficient in building financial models that can be utilized by the business as well as members of finance for various scenario analyses. Items I have have built models for include but are not limited to cash flow forecasting, early pay discount decisions, one-off deal profitability, business valuation and many more. Examples of special projects I have worked include but are not limited to M&A target identification, evaluation & diligence, corp. HQ restructuring target setting & implementation, portfolio optimization to improve overall ROIC, capital structure analysis, re-design of the company-wide forecasting process, share buyback analysis and much more.Prior to joining Tech Data, there was not a significant Corp FP&A team in place and I played a key role in building out a strong team that continues to be viewed as a go-to reliable resource which provides timely and reliable support to both the business and C-suite level.

During my time at EY I assisted primarily with audits of clients in the banking and capital markets industry. My general experiences included preparing walkthroughs and tests of controls for significant processes related to the generation of financial statements, performing analytical procedures and substantive testing to substantiate balances, and managing communication of the off-shore support team to ensure effective and efficient completion of tasks.I was primarily a key contributor in the annual audit of a diversified mortgage banking firm focused primarily on servicing and originating residential loans including reverse loans. While I was on the engagement, this client had a balance sheet in excess of $18 billion. My experiences include general audit execution particularly related to goodwill impairment, residential Loans, real estate owned, control testing, and journal entry testing. During my time on this specific engagement, I was relied upon for goodwill impairment testing which is typically performed by someone that holds a minimum rank of Senior. I was responsible for evaluating prospective financial information contained in the client's financial models and challenging specific assumptions based on my knowledge of the business and industry as a whole. My analysis was reviewed by audit executives due to the high-risk nature of the goodwill account.I also assisted in the audit of a large community bank with a balance sheet in excess of $2 billion during the time I was on the engagement. Experience includes general audit execution, specifically in other real estate owned valuation and ASC 310 loan impairment reviews.

As an intern, I assisted in the year-end audits of a medication technology company and a hospital management company. My general experiences included SOX control testing, substantive testing of significant account balances, and performance of analytical procedures to identify changes requiring investigation. The accounts I was primarily assigned to were: 1) Revenue; 2) Expenses; 3) Payables; 4) Property, Plant & Equipment; and 5) Accounts Receivable.During the audit of the medication technology company, I was utilized in more of a staff role instead of an intern, due to the team being short-staffed with recent staff departures. I was able to identify items of priority, and demonstrate the ability to quickly learn the audit process as I completed my tasks. During the audit of the hospital management company, I again proved to take on responsibilities that typically would be assumed by more experienced associates. I willingly took the lead amongst my fellow interns and staff 1 associates in coordinating the audit's largest sample size and most comprehensive testing, in testing patient accounts receivable validity. On my own initiative, I established myself as the central repository for all of the testing documentation. I coordinated with the interns and staff to test the support and organize it for more efficient detail review by utilizing a system of detailed notes and documentation of an open items listing. On a daily basis, I was solely responsible for following up on nearly 80 open items over 70 hospital locations that resulted from testing. I also assisted in the performance of analytical procedures that included nearly 50 variance explanations across multiple facilities. Furthermore, based on relevant attestation guidance, I performed substantive testing of Meaningful Use Incentive payments, which is a highly specialized/specific healthcare line of revenue. Operating as independent from the enterprise, Nationwide Internal Audit serves to improve business and information technology processes. As an intern, I interviewed and documented the results of discussions with client management to evaluate the risk of business processes. From these conversations, I tested the related internal controls for compliance with key regulations and internal policies/procedures. I tested processes that relate to regulations created by FINRA, the SEC and the OCC. Audit workpapers were drafted with the information gained from these tests in a clear and concise manner. Upon consultation with the lead on the audit, I discussed any identified issues or observations with the client to implement respective action plans, and therefore improve performance.Through my extensive knowledge of Excel, I helped to implement a more detailed risk control matrix to better express each control's magnitude and frequency. Participated in two IT-based projects:Sensitive Systems Full-Disk Encryption (FDE):I acted as the lead data manager after being hired mid-project. I created and updated weekly status attribute lists totaling 9,080 systems based on weekly encryption rollout results. All records were tracked in an Excel workbook. Based on these results, I created high-level presentation materials for the project manager to use in weekly status meetings.Harleysville PC Refresh:I planned and developed a detailed Excel workbook that was used to track the progress of weekly software rollouts. After learning from the inefficiency of the previous project's Excel workbook, I created a design where each spreadsheet was integrated with one another. Detailed reports used by the project manager in status meetings updated each time a system's attribute record changed.

Licensed to sell Life, Accident & Health Insurance policies in the state of Ohio. I completed the licensing process in just three weeks by studying the online coursework between eight and ten hours a day. My license allows for career flexibility and gives a deeper understanding for the insurance industry relating to later positions at Nationwide Insurance and in my audit career.I acted mostly in an administrative role, and led the development of a more rigorous training program in order for agents to better understand the company's products. A detailed training PowerPoint and corresponding test was created for each of Aflac's products, which each agent was required to pass before entering the field. I also assisted in the recruitment of field agents and interns, as well as managed the inventory of corporate sales pamphlets/brochures and corporate training materials.
