This particular outlet is what is referred to as a ‘Complex Store’. We employed about 450 Associates; we did approx. $150 million in sales yearly. The Market Manager’s office was located in our Store, and we were held to a higher pinnacle because of our volume and status. As an Assistant Manager, I was in charge of 7 Departments: Frozen, Dry Grocery, DSD (Direct Store Delivery), Dairy, Paper, Candy (Impulse Buying) & the Liquor Store.My primary responsibility was to ensure that all inventory levels are correct via monitoring the “CAP” process. I ensured Staffing for Trailer unloads. Although I had 5 Departments, I had a total of 7 Department Mgrs. reporting to me, with a fluctuating staff of 110 to 125 associates, even though technically all 450 associates were at my disposal. I ensured all Departments' related displays were according to standard and up to date. I ensured all pricing within all of my departments was up to date, my inventory levels were matching the Sales volume and the “CAP” process was being followed, which accounted for the ebb and flow of inventory.One of my key strengths is conducting training for managers to be well versed in the process but also have several associates within each department capable of following processes. I personally developed four associates to the next level of Supervisor. I helped them to understand and own their area.Key achievements:• Developed a training regimen for the new associates, which lead to higher retention rates: from 35%/40% to 75%• The CFF (Clean, Fast, and Friendly) scores were enhanced with higher retention: from 90% to a max score of 110%• Introduced and championed the BYOD program (bring your own device). When a customer queried an associate, that associate had the answer in the palm of their hand via their phone.• Boosted OSCA (On Shelf Customer Availability) via Process introduction and training. Maintained a higher level of CFF Scores through enhanced Employee/Customer engagement

I oversaw all warehouse relation operations, from Procurement, Inventory Management to Logistics. My biggest challenge during this tenure was getting by in from my “rank and file” to all of the changes that I wanted to implement, how I wanted to implement the changes, and the speed with which the changes needed to occur. I overcame that challenge, by being very descriptive and succinct about the way we were going to be making the changes and to enhance ownership of certain aspects of those changes I promoted several associates, which was approved by my Boss (VP Ops) and, gave confidence to those who were in those ownership roles. Using MS Project, I was able to give a visual to and set specific windows for every aspect of the Projects to be completed.
