As Media Relations Assistant, I support the Office of Marketing Communications staff by working on a variety of different projects. I draft press releases, follow story leads, conduct and transcribe interviews, create media distribution lists, and publicize campus events.

I worked with Project Look Sharp’s executive director Cyndy Scheibe to help research media and media literacy approaches for the development of K-5 media literacy lessons related to gender stereotyping and health education; I designed, edited and formatted the lesson plans for publication. Additionally, I was involved in piloting, testing and evaluating media literacy lessons by observing and interviewing children in local school districts.

At Attend, I am working on several different projects. I mainly support the Attend Brain Injury Academy by interviewing clients and recording their stories for publication. However, I also support the Membership Services team by communicating with member groups and collecting data for the quarterly reports. In addition, I research new NHS initiatives and write for general Attend publications.

As the Recruitment Director I am responsible for recruiting new members to the organization each semester. I research the best methods for recruitment and then develop and implement a recruitment strategy that includes a variety of tactics, such as working with the Events Director to create Recruitment events.

As a communications intern, I helped update websites, wrote and submitted press releases, sent proclamations to governors, recorded and analyzed website analytics and assisted at fundraising events.
