After completing a work experience placement during my time at Curtin University, I was offered a full-time position as a Graphic Designer at East Perth Print. Working both autonomously and in a team my role encompassed a broad range of activities and became the training ground for honing my design, project management and relationship building skills.As a Graphic Designer and Print Machinist I undertook full control of creative projects from start to finish. Liaising with clients from the get go allowed me to build a collaborative and friendly rapport where I established the requirements of the client's project, conceptualised ideas and executed designs according to the defined brief.During the entirety of the project I was responsible for soliciting and implementing client feedback and updating clients on the progress of their jobs following through with fulfilment and delivery. On top of managing design projects I completed a workplace training certificate in Printing and Graphic Arts, expanding my skill set into print production and finishing. With this new skill set I was also responsible for ordering stock, setting up files ready for digital printing, printing files using Xerox 800 and Xerox iGen 150, trim printed designs using the guillotine, run printed designs through the saddle stitcher and assist with other finishing requirements such as wiro binding, hole punching and folding.Other duties required included following up with leads regarding design and print services, organising quotes for specific jobs, collating and sending invoices on completion of projects and assisting the sales representative in meetings in regards to specifications of projects and general discussion about design briefs, target audiences and desired business goals.Throughout my time at East Perth Print I had the opportunity to work on various projects ranging from brand identity design, corporate stationery, labels, annual reports, signage and banners.

Throughout the course of my studies I worked on-going as a Sales Assistant at Baines Manchester. Working in this much-loved family owned business my responsibilities included assisting and greeting customers upon entering the store, completing sales transactions through the POS system, consolidating and pricing stock, organising and arranging custom orders, general housekeeping, opening and closing of the store, counting daily takings and assisting other team members in helping the store to reach its monthly targets.

As a top performing Sales Assistant, my role at YD Menswear involved serving customers in a swift and timely manner utilising a 9-step selling procedure in order to provide customers with a product solution and close sales. Initially establishing a casual rapport with shoppers upon entering the store, it was my duty to then uncover their needs and wants, direct them to a product that would provide them a solution, demonstrate the features and benefits of the product, initiate up-sell, cross-sell and add-ons, close the sale and lastly wrapping up the customer experience by providing care instructions and inviting them back to visit the store again soon.Other responsibilities included completing sales transactions through the POS system, receiving and putting away stock, organising stock transfers, merchandise products in the store in appropriate selling bays, help with sale set-up during sale periods, assist in stock take, monitor KPI’s for performance and work with the other team members to achieve the stores weekly sales targets. I was also trained in opening and closing/cashing up of the store in which I performed in the majority of my shifts along with submitting rosters and clock card entries, banking and sending paperwork to head office.
