Erica Williams Simon is an award-winning social critic, storyteller, entrepreneur, host and author of "You Deserve the Truth: Change the Stories that Shaped Your World and Live a World-Changing Life" (Simon & Schuster May 2019). Through her company Sage House and throughout a career that has spanned politics, media and tech, Erica builds programs and spaces for meaningful conversations that elevate wisdom and drive change - social, institutional and personal. Most recently as Head of the Creator’s Lab at Snapchat, her work brought together a diverse, digital-native generation of storytellers to learn about the world, be inspired and make an impact. A self-described "professional question asker", she is host of the popular podcast "The Call with Erica and has moderated conversations on some of the world's largest stages, from Davos and Aspen Ideas Festival to Michelle Obama's "United States of Women". She was also host and co-creator of “The Assembly", a live talk show experience executive produced by Rosario Dawson.Prior to her work in media, Erica spent nearly a decade in Washington building civic engagement and policy programs for the nation's leading progressive think tank and the oldest civil and human rights coalition in the country. With an emphasis on youth culture, Erica advised everyone from the White House to Fortune 500 companies and was named one of Politicos Top 50 Politicos to Watch, NAACP's 40 Under 40, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and an Aspen Institute Ideas Fellow for her work. The O Magazine Women Rule Leadership Award winner has been a TV regular, appearing on outlets as varied as HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher to BET’s 106th & Park to Dr. Oz.  A Time.com columnist, her work has also been featured in Harvard Business Review, Washington Post, Huffington Post and ESSENCE magazine. She now serves on the board of NPR Generation Listen and ColorofChange.org and resides in Los Angeles, CA.
