Instructure provides two primary products: Canvas and Bridge. Canvas is a learning management system (LMS) that is used by schools and universities. Bridge is a Corporate LMS (built in EmberJS).- Maintained and developed LMS application and assisted in the migration from Rails version 2 to 4- Developed Bridge product with team using Ember- Single-handedly designed and developed EduAppCenter.com- Developed a handful of LTI application, many of which are still active

One on One Marketing was the leading education lead generation company in Utah. During my time there, I was responsible for building numerous isolated applications that dealt with fraud detection, affiliate programs, and lead distribution.One on One sold shortly after I had left for nearly $100M.

I was responsible for writing and maintaining numerous projects:- Lead generation applications which involved extensive A/B testing and integrated with backend systems.- Lead generation management software which qualified and sold leads to different lenders via a proprietary 'ping-tree' algorithm. This allowed for maximum conversion of leads.- Affiliate programs with affiliate portal allowing them to have full visibility of our quality scores and provided vital feedback including up-to-the-minute payout and fraud detection warnings.- Logistics software including full inventory management and API's for 3rd parties to request shipments. This also included portals for 3rd parties to manage their own campaigns and inventory requests.- Design and development of a thriving Facebook community application called 'Sweepstakes'. This application provides the ability for people/companies to perform giveawaysThere are currently over 70,000 unique monthly users to date. I built the software using Ruby on Rails with MySQL as the backed database.- Additional internal applications involving API generation and consumption.During this time, I wrote numerous open-source gems/plugins in Ruby/Rails and Groovy/Grails.

I was responsible for the design and development of ReservationCounter.com. I also wrote lead generation systems which allowed the marketing team to build their own templates under different domains. Additional tools were generated for internal and external usage. All applications were developed in Ruby on Rails.

During my time at AtTask, I was in charge of developing and managing the corporate website. I was able to learn and write the site using Ruby on Rails. The site consisted of a custom CMS (not available in Ruby on Rails at the time) and Salesforce integration. I was also responsible for the development of a CRM which allowed agents to prioritize and contact potential customers. This had timezone support and was used heavily by the company. The failure I had here was implementing a technology that wasn't popular at the time, leaving AtTask with products that they couldn't staff to replace me. Lesson learned.

Developed and maintain Java based, templated appraisal management software including a full accounting system for leading Las Vegas appraisal firm (www.bcappraisal.com). Developed and maintain loan management software which was in process of being sold to Fortune 500 company.

Founded and developed software for a software-services startup. Created software which enabled an e-commerce services business model targeting digital photo industry. Company revenues topped 7M EUR per year and delivered 8 quarters of profitability. Led a team of 10 programmers, 5 of which were in Romania. Lead interface designer integrating back-end classes with front-end design using PHP. Helped in developing multi-national templated e-commerce system.This job was my first as a software engineer. My brother and his wife had moved to Switzerland six months prior to work for the same company. I was told by him that if I learn PHP, I can get a job with them. I bought a book on PHP, learned as much as I could and moved to Switzerland. I started showing up at their business and eventually was hired as a PHP developer.
