Growing up, my Mom had a rule: we weren't allowed to pass a car on the side of the road without pulling over and seeing if they needed help. Most of the time they already had help on the way. All of the time, my Dad, Brother and I would grumble. We'd get frustrated about the likelihood that they didn't NEED our help and feel like we wasted our time. Sometimes I was just tired and ready to get home, and it wasn't OUR problem, right? Mom always said it was worth it, asking anyway, and maintained that belief until she passed in 2021.So here I am, stuck on Earth, caring about and loving other people.
