Grew up in small commercial greenhouse business at a time when the value of being “green” didn’t have much meaning. Picked up a few things about nurturing and problem solving at an age too young to fully grasp the value; but I always knew I wanted to grow and build something better.Received an engineering degree with honors and then into the military to serve my country. Instinctively became qualified to be part of the best - Airborne, Ranger, French Commando. I never got called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice like many warriors before and after me. Moved on to the challenges of engineering and business. Over the next two decades I participated directly in capital project development around the globe. Later when leading the growth of a boutique Capital Project PM Consulting firm, experienced first hand that the success of most capital projects was more about leadership and alignment than the technical aspects of a well defined scope. By the time I left this firm, came to understand that every project, every business, every life endeavor can be viewed through the lense of a customer factory concept - a lean approach to rapidly iterating to the most value added solution.So here I am, having come full circle since those early growing and building days and wanting to improve the capital project business outcome. No matter what size or stage of development of the company; "capital projects" is not a unique, new challenge in "what "has to done but requires the leadeship to optimze the human resources in how it is done.
