Went from 26 visits in 5 months to 420K+ in 2020, and over 700K to date -Led pandemic push from 200 patients registered to >18% of all (~1M) MA patients registered for telemedicine. Targeting >30% adoption-Deployed tablets w/ 4G LTE to pts without technology, capturing $530M in RAF lift, 9600+ visits in first 20 days and 175K+ in 2020…~300K to date.

Head new referral management program for WellMed, UnitedHealth Group/OptumHealth’s largest Medicare Advantage product. Established policy and 10 referral centers using clinical algorithms to direct Medicare beneficiaries toward the best care at the best value in WellMed networks across Texas and Florida. Deployed new technologies and devised policy and procedures for the new referral centers. Integrated electronic health records for more than 640K members to improve data integrity, ease of use and data collection, as well as significant administrative savings. Compiled preferred provider list for the Texas and Florida markets for members’ self-referrals to specialists.• WellMed targeted 2019 savings of $10M ($14M realized) • Collaborated with Optum and vendor to build Referral Utility for use in all Optum Care Delivery Organizations (CDOs).

Provided executive oversight and strategic planning of 20 medical facilities, $900M annual budget. My team and I the directed placement, relocation and recruitment of 9,400 emplyees (military, civilian and contractors). I also served as an advisor and collaborated with the executive staff of our facilities ranging in size from primary care clinic to tertiary care medical center with Graduate Medical Education Programs.-Devised comprehensive multi-year facilities consolidation plan to streamline care and better control costs. -Led team to synchronize strategic and operational plans for 76-facility global organization with 2.5M beneficiaries and $6.2B annual operating budget. -Generated monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in compliance with CFO Act. -Developed strategy and merged 3 healthcare agencies with total budget of $15B into one system. -Met all project milestones for transition of 9.4M beneficiaries to new treatment plan. -New recruiting, retention, and relocation program eliminated chronic clinical staff vacancy problem; achieved a 99% fill rate.

Responsible for facility management, supply chain ($117M per annum), vendor relations/credentialing and contracted services/contract employees (180 FTEs). Worked closely with surgeons and clinical staff to ensure they had the right support to practice medicine (supplies, equipment, space, contact personnel).-Supervised center’s supply chain, contract management, vendor relations, medical equipment maintenance, facility management and custodial services.-Collaborated with 60+ surgeons, 500 providers, and 1.6K support staff to ensure proper resourcing through standardized equipment, surgical sets and space allocations.-Center rated #1 for Inpatient Satisfaction by Department of Defense.-Simplified vendor credential process eliminating surgical delays.-Cut surgical suite turnaround time 20%, saving $11M in lost productivity; made implant and surgical kits available for elective and emergency surgical procedures.-Streamlined $188M supply chain that supported 450K outpatient visits, 3.5K surgeries and 3.3K admissions.

Directed group practice business operations for 2nd largest hospital in Air Force serving 56K+ beneficiaries annually. Medical center access manager for 337 physicians, 154 physicians in GME, 350 templates, and 60 medical students. Leads clinical product line scheduling, productivity, & strategic planning for system with 306K visits, 6K surgeries and 6.5K admissions. Strategist for maintaining provider currency, financial performance, healthcare regulations, patient safety, patient engagement, and tracking of performance indicators. -Tripled neurosurgery caseload and increased all surgical referrals 65% through agreements with local Veterans Affairs Hospital and regional Army facilities; increased annual surgical caseload by over 600.-Led performance improvement initiatives for all service lines, from family practice, and cardiology to oncology and orthopedics. Simplified workflows and increased clinical throughput to meet business targets.

Managed TRICARE program activities to include $5M+ annual claim/bill processing, referral management, marketing, debt collection, enrollment, and healthcare benefits.

Integrated 7 clinics staff generating 42,000 outpatient visits annually for 9,000 enrolled patients. Oversaw budgeting, scheduling, productivity, strategic planning and patient satisfaction initiatives.
