Building AI group from first employees, including hiring of 20 highly qualified AI Scientists, from junior to senior positions, for 3 AI squads. Coaching of AI and data scientists from applied science role to middle management roles. Establishing practices (agile and scrum framework, measures and quality practices) to introduce efficient and transformational AI, delivering substantial ROI and IP (2 patents owned). Senior Product Owner of the Search Product Line (250 M$). In charge of design and productization of search engines and their ecosystem (autocomplete, linguistics components, knowledge components, relevance data, crawler) for the company and its subsidiaries using state of the art technologies (IA, NLP, Machine Learning). In charge of dissemination of AI technology to improve various processes. Direct reporting from a R&D team of 15+ research scientists and experts in agile environment, including middle manager. Cross functional interactions as PO with others related teams (search engineering, seo, data). - Continuous development of YP.ca search engine (based on Sol-R) and product improvement. - Design and delivery of the new 411.ca search engine based on YP ecosystem.- Design of IA innovative solution for lead discovery (saving 8M$ and doubling lead conversion ratio). - Design and delivery of a mobile specific Elastic Search engine for YP Grocery application - Development of collaborations with main Montréal Universities research Labs (UDM, UQAM, Concordia)

Reporting to the VP Digital media, I lead a R&D team of 10+ computer scientists, data scientists, developers, experts and linguists to work on continuous improvement of YP search engine relevance, one of the major local search engines in Canada (+600M searches a year). With those experts in Knowledge Management, Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, and Machine learning, we apply the most recent techniques in Agile environment to develop and improve the search ecosystem, including its knowledge components. Gained 30% on search engine results quality to target over 90% of successful search. - Built the team, including high profile talent recruiting- Merging pre-existing groups and management of transition to Scrum & Kanban - Product ownership of YP search engine relevance and roadmap definition- Algorithms and architecture design- Continuous improvement on search and autocomplete relevance- Design of innovative metrics for executives reporting using AI ( MLN, Neural Networks)

Research on semantic analysis applied to information retrieval with a Mitacs Elevate postdoctoral research fellowship, in partnership with company 3CE. Research and development in Information Extraction, Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing. Leading a team of 4 scientists to develop an open source semantic information extraction system (SemLinker).- Developed a novel Semantic Annotation algorithm (paper at ACL 2014 )- System participated to the NIST TAC KBP entity linking evaluation campaign.* Obtained the 3rd place in 2013 (non supervised system)* Obtained the 10th place in 2014 (overall)- Mitacs Elevate Grant Laureate

Research in NLP, information extraction and knowledge discovery with machine learning technic in the context of a technology transfer contract with a private company. Large database management using NOSQL and SQL technology and Semantic Web standards.

Research on various NLP problems related to coreference detection, classification, information extraction and semantic labeling. Developed an open source coreference detection system (Poly-Co) - Developed coreference detection algorithm based on Neural Network (paper at CoNLL 2011)- System participated in ConLL shared task (scientific evaluation campaign), 9 th place

Research Associate and NLP project coordinator for the GITAN project (PROMPT). The Gitan project was a research initiative intended to discover mechanisms of 3D visualisation and animation according to text content. I was involved in student and project management and research.

Reporting to the University Research Dean, I coordinated the Mistral project (mistral.univ-avignon.fr) for the LIA lab. The goal of this project was to build a biometric authentification platform usable for research and product implementation. This was an ANR (national research agency) funded project involving 4 University labs (Toulouse, le Mans, Grenoble, Avignon), 1 engineering school (Eurécom), and 2 companies (Thalès, Calistel). - Project selected as 'projet vitrine' by ANR for the quality of its deliverable- Voice recognition components implemented in Thales Product line- Maintenance, development and improvement of Alize classifier in C++

Collaborations with various publications: PC Magazine, SVM, l'Expansion, l'Entreprise; and major publishing organizations: Test, Amaury, Sepcom.

In charge of the design, development, launch, and management of Génération PC magazine, including recruitment and management of a team of freelance journalists and intermediate managers (50 individuals). Responsible for editorial management of the publication (which became the third-largest title in its sector within 4 months of launch).
