Senior Staff Engineer - Airworthiness & Certification
Senior Staff Engineer - Advanced Systems And Preliminary Design
In this role, I was the Systems Test Integration Leader for the CFM International RISE hydrogen demonstrator program.RISE stands for Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines. In partnership with the Airbus ZEROe program, it is CFM's goal to develop and test-fly a zero-emission commercial turbofan engine that operates on 100% hydrogen combustion.
Staff Engineer - Test Systems Engineering
In this role, I planned and conducted my own instrumentation work and formally lead horizontal teams on projects of moderate to high complexity requiring significant test engineering expertise across all engine programs.I worked closely with senior leadership and the Controlled Title Holder community to ensure the instrumentation team met strategic cost and test mission fulfillment objectives, followed engineering best practices, satisfied program requirements, mitigated risk, and documented design efforts and lessons learned.I developed and maintained design practices, standard work templates, and engineering test project sheet templates used by the team and our customers to ensure clear communication among key stakeholders.I also participated as a reviewer in instrumentation design reviews.
Advanced Lead Engineer - Separable & Applied Instrumentation
In this role, I leveraged the skills and business perspective I developed working in Systems to return to Test Systems Engineering in a leadership position as the liaison between Separable & Applied Instrumentation and the Military Engineering organization. While continuing to design and execute more complex Separable projects, I owned the team's high-level cost and schedule deliverables for military programs and ensured on-time delivery of requested instrumentation packages and documentation to the assembly floor in support of engine and rig build-up.I also collaborated with engineers on the Applied side of the group on cross-discipline projects to develop and test new technologies and capabilities for eventual application on engine tests.
Advanced Lead Engineer, Development Test Engine Owner - Military Systems Engineering
In this leadership role, I was the owner of the planning, instrumentation, assembly, and test process for the second-engine-to-test (SETT) of an advanced military engine program. As part of the Systems Engineering team, I collaborated regularly with the Air Force customer on issues related to test requirements definition, risk burn-down, program budget, and technical readiness.Within GE, I worked cross-functionally with both the Design and Test communities to ensure overall program schedule and budget milestones were met as engine hardware, test facilities hardware, and instrumentation hardware were all developed in their own separate organizations.I was also responsible for creating the engine test plan and managing the execution of the 6-month, multi-million dollar test campaign across engineering facilities in 2 states.
Lead Engineer - Separable Instrumentation
In this expanded role in the Instrumentation organization, I managed my own projects to a greater extent while at the same time providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers in support of more complex instrumentation designs.I also successfully led a series of capital and expense projects with a total budget of $100,000 to upgrade the dated mission-critical hardware in the Separable Instrumentation team's aero calibration lab.
Engineer - Separable Instrumentation
In this role, I led the design, development, manufacturing, installation, and troubleshooting of separable instrumentation solutions for the measurement of speed, pressure, temperature, and vibration during gas turbine testing.I managed up to 40 projects at a time through 2 different union shops, creating detailed work instructions and technical documentation to ensure parts and planning were delivered to the assembly floor on schedule and within cost. I was also responsible for the creation and presentation of related design review materials, including mechanical and thermal analyses as required.I supported component test rigs, as well as development, compliance, and field return engines across all of GE's commercial, military, and marine & industrial product lines.
Edison Engineering Development Program
In this rotational leadership development program, I was the owner of the fan and core compartment undercowl cooling and ventilation systems for both GEnx commercial engine programs. It was my responsibility to provide engineering, modeling, and analytical support to owners of the external hardware to ensure that proposed design and/or configuration changes would not disrupt the undercowl thermal environment and adversely affect component life.I also led the effort to successfully test and certify with the FAA the GEnx-1B PIP2 and GEnx-2B PIP engines for undercowl cooling and ventilation (14 CFR Parts 25 and 33), including collection, analysis, and documentation of engine test data.
Junior Geophysicist
In this role, I perform algorithmic processing and imaging of sub-surface, ground-based, airborne, and remotely-sensed geophysical exploration data to highlight the geology and economic and environmental resources of targeted areas.
Systems Engineer
In this role, I provided project leadership and expert-level infrastructure services focusing on the design, installation, configuration, and integration of Windows servers; Dell storage arrays; Cisco firewalls, switches, and routers; and other data center technologies in support of a hosted endpoint security platform.
It Consultant
In this role, I was responsible for the installation and ongoing support of business-critical desktop and network infrastructure computing resources at a variety of small businesses across the Columbus, OH area. I managed IT for 10 physical locations, encompassing 300+ workstations and network devices.
Desktop Engineer
In this role, I supported desktop computer and mobile IT resources for a Fortune 25 company with a user base of 50,000+ employees. In addition to day-to-day troubleshooting of client issues, I administered all backend aspects of the Windows Active Directory environment, including Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Remote Desktop, Exchange Server, and Windows Updates.
Senior Product Support Engineer
In this role, I provided operations support for monitoring and management, as well as Tier-3 engineering support, for a hosted global IP services software solution. I also wrote troubleshooting procedures for Tier-1 and Tier-2 personnel and trained frontline specialists on the resolution of basic customer issues.
