Eric is a certified Functional Safety Professional with over 23 years of experience in the field of process control, industrial automation and theme park systems. After joining DMC Gas Engineering in 1996, Eric founded the Process Automation department there and developed his career from an automation engineer to an expert in process controls, motion controls, process design and life safety systems design. In year 2000, Eric co-founded ITMation and the company has since served industries including oil & gas, food & beverage, water treatment, environmental control, entertainment and theme parks. Systems designed by Eric can be found in USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Pakistan, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.Major works since establishment of ITMation:Developed the Active Flow Control (AFC) gas blending system that has over 100 installation bases worldwide since year 2000.Designed the complete process for recovering, flaring, boosting, drying, purifying and adjusting the calorific value of landfill gas.Developed the gas boosting and gas mixing infrastructure for Universal Studios Singapore for flame effects in three of their attractions.Chief System Architect for the motion control and protection system of Crane Dance - the world's largest animatronic system with two 80 tons, 10 stories tall steel structures and 12 moving axes. Responsible for developing the system architecture, definition of the motion profile, designing the system interfaces with the hydraulic/servo motor systems and integration with the show control system.Chief Engineer for three highly complex ride control systems to be deployed in theme parks in Qingdao and Wuxi China, featuring self propelled roller coaster vehicles, linear induction motors, 6DOF motion platforms and high speed hydraulic lifts and drop towers.Developed a fully automated aircraft cabin disinfection system that automatically disinfects all surface areas of the aircraft cabin with a closed-loop control system and automatically upload all operational data to a cloud server via 4G network for audit trail. Disinfection cycle is setup and monitored by a dedicated app.Co-invented a new steam effect technology for use in theme parks and theaters that saves over 70% energy over conventional technologies and implemented it for a major theme park in Hong Kong.Safety Design Specialist for the Tunnel Ventilation System of a new metro line in Macau to fulfil SIL 2 Functional Safety requirements according to EN 50129 and EN 61511.
