I am currently a researcher for the Laborers' Union on green jobs and infrastructure. I have over 20 years experience in the labor movement as a researcher, organizer, campaigner, writer, policy analyst and educator. I got my start in the movement as part of the leadership of the Graduate Employees Organizations at the University of Michigan where I served as President of the local. I have since worked for a number of unions as a strategic campaign researcher assisting with worker organizing and collective bargaining campaigns.I have also been a labor solidarity activist for years, with active leadership in many groups. I was one of the founders of the anti-sweatshop campaign at the University of Michigan in the 1990's, and have since served as an advisor or board member for the Labor Research & Action Network, International Labor Rights Forum, Worker Rights Consortium, Citizens Trade Campaign and Sweatfree Purchasing Consortium. I have also been active in New York City labor solidarity work with several local groups. Furthermore, I am currently a worker-owner at the Research|Action Cooperative and on the board of the Morningside Gardens housing cooperative.
