Eric Alan Donaldson is a veteran media professional and Los Angeles based content producer. His career spans over 30 years in media production; below the line, above the line and as an executive. Eric is known by his colleagues as a problem solver and “fixer.” As a young filmmaker, Eric was among a small group of action sports pioneers, whose videos showcased the top athletes of the day, exposed viewers to the emerging Southern California music scene and showcased brands such as Black Flys, Body Glove, Reef and Fleshgear. As the grandson of a jazz musician and composer, the ever present New Orleans jazz soundtrack playing in the background of his childhood home in Los Angeles truly shaped his life. Putting passion first, his award winning short documentary, Trombone Shorty, helped launch the career of the prolific artist by the same name.By leveraging his longstanding relationships with Casting Directors, Location Managers, Crews, Equipment Vendors and Owner/Operators, Eric solves production challenges for his clients from around the country, and around the globe. He uses practical, cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or production value, which elevates his client’s visibility and cultivates good humans worldwide.Prior to his professional career, Eric had his first experience on the set at the age of four when he appeared on the classic kids' TV program, "Romper Room." He later directed, produced and edited his first music video as a junior in high school. While still in college, Eric began taking on various below-the-line positions. From best boy to camera operator, and from editor to post-production supervisor he learned the art of filmmaking working on feature films such as Apollo 13, The Fifth Element, Gia and Max Keeble's Big Move; and TV shows such as Judd Apatow’s Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. At the same time, Eric was very active in the Action Sports world, where when he was younger, he raced BMX and Motocross. In 1995 he combined his hobby with his career, creating and producing the award winning action sports series, All My Crazy Friends. As a first-time producer, he knew the sky was the limit and he’s never looked back!
