Planning and execution of automation systems being implemented at Resilience Durham, NC facility.• Develop process automation system strategic plans in conjunction with the Automation Program and Strategy Lead• Provide technical input, guidance, and oversight for automation projects, including automation system design, control system hardware, equipment design, control panel design, and instrumentation start-up and troubleshooting.• Develop Resilience automation capabilities, including development of technical standards, guidelines, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices.• Contribute to automation system design and integration, including hardware/software design specification development, user / functional requirement development, integration, and validation in conjunction with IT Computer Systems Validation & QA Validation leads.• Aid in the development of electrical drawings, network architecture, P&IDs and loop descriptions for various processes and equipment.• Collaborate with automation system service providers, contract resources and Instrument/Electrical Technicians ensuring safe, compliant maintenance and project execution.• Lead automation issue identification and resolution, including all compliance aspects such as Deviation investigation, Change Control, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, improving, or optimizing ongoing manufacturing operations

Team leader responsible for technical and core competency skill development for up to 8 direct reports. Produce and manage performance expectations and priorities ensuring maximum resource utilization.

Responsible for control system architecture development, automation project coordination, preliminary engineering design study arrangement, project instrumentation selection and location planning, project schedules, control panel design, PLC and HMI software development, equipment testing and commissioning. Regular coordination with other engineering disciplines, operations, maintenance and expert consultants to achieve optimum results.

Perform technical and managerial responsibilities for automation and integration projects. Apply knowledge and experience to assist clients with design improvements that result in efficient, robust systems. Work as primary technical point of contact for the client and the project team ensuring development of quality automation systems that are tailored specifically to each application. Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians in best practices, engineering standards and project planning. Perform hardware and software migrations for older systems to take advantage of the latest technology and improve system reliability. Develop automation solutions for machine control, building management and process control in industries including food and beverage, data storage and medical equipment manufacturing.

Develop robust and reliable control strategies for client process improvement projects. Write, test and implement PLC programs for batch and sequential operations. Create, expand and improve validated software object libraries. Exceed customer expectations for quality, service and schedule.

Design and draft P&IDs for gas and chemical services in support of CVD glass coating systems. Specify gauges, sensors, transducers and valves and develop instrument data sheets per ISA standards. Commission CVD systems at international customer site.

Responsible for controls systems design, specification, development and validation. Coordination of process improvement efforts with the Production and Project Engineering groups. Manage system integrators and developers through project life cycle. Lead network infrastructure planning, SCADA and historical data system development and system performance report generation.

Project planning including interfacing with customers to define functional requirements and design, configure, and implement control systems. Automation strategy, PLC and HMI development for batch and continuous processes in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, power and energy and glass manufacturing.
