I am primarily responsible for the business development of Structural Soils Ltd; however, my role incorporates a BD role for our Technical Services Division which includes JB Site Investigation and PB Drilling, Envirolab, Remedx, GRS, Asbestos and our parent group RSK. Previously I was managing our ground investigation works within the Rail Sector. I draw on 32 years experience as both contractor and consultant to ensure that the techniques used are both cost effective and appropriate for the proposed end use. My experience encompasses a wide range of ground investigations techniques with geotechnical and geo-environmental input. This covers major civil, structural and environmental engineering development projects, with associated interpretative reporting of both brown and greenfield sites.

Responsible for directing geo-environmental input on brownfield land projects. This includes site characterisation, human health and environmental risk assessments and development of remediation strategies on key £100k+ contaminated land and infrastructure development projects. My involvement ensures that technical recommendations are practical as well as effective and will be acceptable to regulators, helping to ensure their prompt agreement.• Providing expert technical knowledge from conception, the proposed design, contract procurement and project management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations including undertaking these on major transportation links (highways and rail infrastructure) until the final report. • Delivering technical direction for assessment of sites under planning guidance and Part IIA.• Delivering Eurocode 7 (BS EN 14688:2002/2004) soil logging updates to internal colleagues and a local site investigation contractor.

I spent the first two years of my time with Socotec in Sellalfield on a £550m ground investigation drilling 3,000m deep boreholes for a proposed nuclear repository. I was subsequently transferred to Wokingham where I worked for the next 2 years on 45 LUL embankments, Thames Water and NWR projects.
