I am a licensed middle school math teacher and a skilled research analyst with years of professional experience developing, conducting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research studies designed to provide strategic advice to corporate, non-profit and political organizations.As a teacher, I am passionate about engaging all students through inquiry-based learning and building a supportive community of learners. I bristle at the perception that some students are just “not math people.” I strive to generate excitement about math among students, to show them the relevance of math in their own lives, and to encourage them to uncover mathematical concepts while collaborating with their classmates.Beyond the classroom, I have particular interest in the development and evaluation of innovative education policy and programs that help to improve instruction among all populations of students, particularly those who are less confident, engaged, or successful. I thrive in a collaborative environment and would love to connect with organizations whose mission matches my own.
