PRINT JOURNALISMI developed my lifelong affinity for language through 16 years working for the Rapid City Journal, a 30,000-circulation daily newspaper serving western South Dakota and the surrounding region. In those years, I worked both on the writing and editing sides of the newsroom, interviewing such entertainers as Graham Nash, Sheryl Crow and Trent Reznor. I also have written feature articles for regional and national magazines, such as the Sons of Norway Viking, Black Hills Woman and Panache.WEB CONTENTMy online work includes more than two years of daily article editing for Demand Media Studios, primarily for the company’s flagship site, Livestrong.com. Additionally, I have edited articles for consumer-trends research company Iconoculture and have written website content for software developer WebSpring Media and interactive advertising publisher Active8media.ADVERTISING/MARKETINGI work with regional firms such as Imago Visual and The Design Mine, both of Denver, as well as South Dakota-based companies such as Bernard Marketing & Advertising and Freestylle Design. Projects I have completed run the gamut from brochures for LAMCO, a foreclosure management corporation; product booklets for motorcycle makers Jim Nasi Custom Motorcycles and Independent Cycle; and marketing materials for Rolfing Solutions, an alternative health-care provider.BOOKSI have edited both fiction and nonfiction books. Nationally recognized consumer finance author Paul Strassels hired me for both of his books, “On Your Own: The Consumer’s Guide to Downsizing Debt” and “Second Chance: A Course in Personal Financial Management for Those Seeking Bankruptcy Protection.” Additionally, I edited three novels for American Book Publishing: “Prisoners of War” by Katie Thibodeau; “Abandoned in the Maze” by Michael Berg; and “Ashes of the Sun” by Eric Allred.”
