Mr. Etter was closely involved in selling of the Company to The Blackstone Group in 2005 and later to Macquarie Group in 2007. He also played a significant role in numerous debt financings, including two CMBS securitizations. The company was later sold to American Tower Corp in 2013.Prior to joining GTP, Mr. Etter spent six years as Corporate Controller for Titan Towers where he had overall responsibility for the Company's financial and accounting administration. Titan Towers was one of the largest tower companies operating in the Southwest region of the United States.Before joining Titan Towers, Mr. Etter spent six years at Pittencrieff Communications where he served in a variety of management roles and was significantly involved in the Company’s IPO in 1993 and the Company’s sale to Nextel Communications in 1997.

Global Tower Partners was an owner and operator of wireless communications real estate infrastructure and was acquired by American Tower Corporation in September of 2013 for a combined purchase price of $4.8 billion. GTP was majority owned by Macquarie Infrastructure Partners together with minority partners including Dutch pension fund manager PGGM and management. GTP owned and operated approximately 5,400 domestic towers, 800 domestic property interests under third-party communications sites, and had management rights to over 9,000 domestic sites, which were primarily rooftop assets. In addition, GTP owned 500 communications sites in Costa Rica. The company’s customers consisted of leading wireless communications providers including AT&T, Sprint-Nextel, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile USA, Leap Wireless, Clearwire, US Cellular, Metro PCS, Claro and Telefonica.
Titan Towers was formed in 1998 by former management members of Pittencrieff Communications, Inc. and was one of the largest wireless tower infrastructure providers operating in the Southwest region of the United States. Pittencrieff's network operated in the 800 MHz Specialized Mobile Radio band and later used iDENtechnology, developed by Motorola and offered a then unique push-to-talk "walkie-talkie" feature in addition to direct dialed voice calls.Shares of Pittencrieff were traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol PCIN. At the time of its acquisition by Nextel, Pittencreiff had FCC licenses to provide wireless services to markets with a total population of 27 million people.
