In October 2019, Eric Feldstein was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NY Life Insurance Company (NY Life). In this role, Eric has responsibility for leading the company’s finance organization and serves as a member of NY Life’s Executive Management Committee. Just prior to joining NY Life, Eric Feldstein served as CFO of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the largest US mutual health insurer and the parent company of five Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans in the Midwest. Before joining HCSC, Eric served for over five years as Executive Vice President at American Express, with operating responsibility for a large global portfolio of businesses beyond the company's traditional charge and credit card products. Eric Feldstein began his career at General Motors where he spent over 20 years in a wide range of finance and operating roles. He served as CFO of GMAC Financial Services; he served as Treasurer of GM; and he subsequently served as CEO of GMAC Financial Services for over five years, leading the company’s worldwide enterprise in Global Auto Finance, Global Insurance, Asset-Based Lending, and Real Estate Finance. Eric is also currently a member of the Board of Directors of Open Lending Corporation (NASDAQ: LPRO) and serves on the Risk Committee and Audit Committee of the Board. Open Lending offers loan analytics, risk-based pricing, and default insurance to financial institutions in support of their auto loan underwriting activity and management of their auto loan portfolios. Along with his professional work, Eric has served his local community through his involvement with Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun, one of the largest synagogues in Manhattan, where he previously served as President. Eric is also a member of the Board of Directors of SeriousFun Children's Network, a community of 30 camps around the world — founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman — that offer special camp experiences to children with serious illnesses.Eric earned his BA in economics from Columbia University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
