In 2021, I founded Blue Ocean Tech (BOT) to pursue my mobile application concepts and provide consulting services to guide clients on creating a compelling business plan for investors as well as engineering ready user stories for easy estimation and implementation.One of my concepts, CRTFD QTTR (Certified Quitter), is a game you play to quit your bad habits. Players purchase a habit specific quitting game, earn XP by completing daily wellness challenges and level up by reaching abstinence milestones. Modeled after gaming communities, players can view leaderboards and connect with other CRTFD QTTRs for support and to share their wisdom with others.My first app, NiteVybe, provides real time nightlife information by crowdsourcing data in the same way that Waze provides current traffic conditions. I was able to launch a prototype and partnered with several local venues and musicians to validate the concept. NiteVybe is currently awaiting production level development.Additionally, I provide product management consulting services in the following areas: MVP definition, workflow automation, UI/UX, mobile, DevOps, cloud architecture, integrations and story writing.BOT also offers social media management, analytics, Google Ad services, content creation, content marketing, video editing and e-commerce services.

Created the world’s first automated estimating system which completely replaces the human appraiser in the estimate process. The app, which goes to production in July, uses Visual Intelligence and Machine Learning to identify damage to the vehicle and then the Automated Appraisal Engine automatically creates the estimate without human involvement.Managed integration with Legacy systems and implemented framework to ensure all applications were production ready.Product Owner for GoTime Driver/Pocket Estimate our current mobile estimating application. The app has approximately 30k users per month and an average rating of 4.8. It is currently being used by State Farm and The General.Product Owner for GoTime Inspection our current mobile estimating application designed for fleets. It is currently being used by Avis and Toyota.Previously, I was the Product Owner for our Estimate Compliance suite which delivered millions of dollars of savings to our clients by ensuring an accurate and quality estimate. I supported the Legacy application and also rebuilt the new version of the application.My teams use XP and Lean Startup framework for our discovery, design and development. We pair program, automate all of our testing a CI/CD pipeline to integrate and deploy our code. These practices allow us to deliver value and quality at a rate that is unmatched in the organization and puts us on par with the best teams in any organization.During this time, I completed two engagements with Pivotal Labs where I paired with the Pivotal team to learn XP, automated testing and modern cloud architecture. One of the engagements was in Toronto and the other was in Denver.

I led our company’s transition from Lean Six Sigma to Agile methodologies. I managed 60% of the projects in my company’s end-to-end digital claims portfolio. My role required me to innovate and utilize data to develop a completely automated claim path for the customer where no manual intervention is necessary. I owned the product roadmap and my team utilized minimal viable products, A/B testing, statistical analysis, crowd sourcing and focus groups to develop the best possible user experience and drive digital claims transactions. Additionally, I owned the stakeholder management plan and communicated all changes and product results to our executive officer team.Developed company’s Digital First Contact product. First contact is the initial interaction we have with a customer involved in a claim and is the number one reason we receive phone calls. No other insurance carrier has this digital functionality. Previously, this was a phone only process. The product saved the company $1.1M in manual processing on an annual basis.Developed new system logic that had a targeted approach to flagging claims where coverage investigation was needed. Also, designed requirements for online messaging to advice the customer of the next steps they can take on their claim to assist with the coverage investigation. The project had an annual savings of $3.4 million.Created self-service option for users to add, edit and view their claim information. The product eliminated 214,000 calls per year and saved $530,000 in 2015.
