Previously, I was the Wellness Sergeant for Colorado Springs Police Department. This entails creating/managing peer support, managing contracts with therapists for support for our employees, and proactive programming. I also manage the Community Response Teams (officer, paramedic, and therapist working as a team) as well as the CIT program for the 4th Judicial District area.I have received the Medal of Honor, Medal of Valor and Life Saving Awards (2x). I was promoted to Sergeant in May of 2015. Prior to that, I was assigned to Investigations working with local businesses to deter Retail Crime. I am a training officer, hostage negotiatior, gang specialist, crowd control team leader, and Crisis Intervention Training coordinator, defensive tactics instructor (FBI) along with teaching a variety of in-service topics and recertifications for officers. I also mentor new officers upon hiring. I have been a detective in the Special Investigations Division of the Department. I also have experience with technology as the program manager of the Coplogic DORS system.Specialties: Special investigations, fluent in Spanish, crisis intervention, crowd control (specialized in protestor devices), hostage negotiations.
