I am a tech entrepreneur turned policy entrepreneur. I am launching a new nonprofit, Americans for Responsible Innovation, working on addressing AI policy challenges. Most recently, I built DynamiCare Health, a digital health startup focused on supporting recovery from substance addiction. At DynamiCare, I raised over $8M in equity funding and $6M in non-dilutive funding. The company has built products to help people overcome addiction to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, which have been shown to increase quit rates by 2-4x in 8 peer-reviewed studies by our academic research partners. We work with state agencies and major commercial and Medicaid health plans across the country. We have won 4 grants from the NIH and 2 FDA Breakthrough Device Designations. In late 2023, I transitioned my role at DynamiCare from CEO to President, to focus more on strategic issues and opportunities for the company.After moving to DC during COVID, I became more interested in the policy side of tech, which led me to start working on creating Americans for Responsible Innovation in late 2023. I saw a need for an organization that could effectively work with U.S. policymakers on AI issues on behalf of the public interest. Our vision is to become a key player in crafting a thoughtful governance structure for AI.
